Halloween doesn't happen until October 31st, what do you do to get yourself into the spirit of Halloween each day. I usually watch a horror movie once in awhile and listen to music. Over the summer I came up with an idea where I'm having a party.Since there's a lot of remakes coming up, I'm planning on renting the original ones. I'm planning on dressing up and making a few treats, I'm just trying to get prepared for Halloween and I want this year to be especially eventful.

It doesn't take much to get me in the spirit. As a matter of fact, if you asked a member of my family, they would probably tell you that I never lose that spirit, and of course, they'd be right. I basically just hold my excitement in check until after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, but come February, I release my inner goblin and begin sketching out my next haunt, looking for prop bargains, and working on my builds. No one seems to understand the joy I get from the planning and bulding is greater to me than just October 31st. That's just the culmination of all my thought of mischief and mayhem. I hope I never grow up!

Grimy lives in my front parlor 365 while Cousin It guards the down stairs Egyptian tomb bathroom. Skulls light my attic stair way. I never put it away 100% I start decorating inside for The Party in September. I have outside ready to light on Oct 1. Then the Facebook 31 days of Halloween videos start with a count down to the big day. I watch horror movies and wallow in October. I spend Nov looking for deals and start planning for the next year. Halloween is never really out of my head.

My Halloween spirit is pretty much there 365 24/7, but if I find it flagging at all I open up the Halloween closet that holds the retro props & assorted Beistle knock offs. I love all that stuff that I've collected over the years.
If that doesn't get me back in the spirit, opening the storage boxes with the costumes I made for my daughter when she was little turns the trick!

www.doombuggies.com does the trick for me. I love listening to the full length soundtrack of a ride on Haunted Mansion (tape made around 2000 I think).

I don't think I could have put it any better! I keep some of my decorations out all year, which makes me happy to no end. Thankfully, my husband doesn't seem to mind! I do feel bad though, it's hard for me not to keep talking about decorating and getting ready for the next gathering. I love it, I love it, I love it!!!
