I was wondering if anyone else is near Nashville. We are having terrible floods. My house is ok but my storage shed were I store some props was under 3 feet of water. I'm hoping all the latex props will dry without the foam they are filled with molding. I had 3 animatronics that I'm sure are ruined. One was a $2,500 ScareFactory animatronic.
The rest of my stuff is stored in other locations and it is ok. We didn't have flood insurance because we don't live in a flood zone. I'm thankful that my family and house will be ok. I hope anyone else from the forum that is near me is ok.
Has anybody got any tips on how to dry out the latex props? I wanted to bring them into the house but the foam inside is completely soaked with water.

I'm sorry to hear about your things being ruined. Even though they are only material things and can be replaced, it is very disappointing..
I'm glad you and your family are okay.

Hard post to read Dawn408. Glad you guys and your home are okay but sorry about the shed. Hope that is the last of your water problems. I'm sure someone here has had something like this happen to them and will be of some help.

Hey Dawn408, do you remember year before last when those tornadoes went through Macon County? Well I knew a couple of people who's homes were destroyed and they had NO insurance. Because it was considered a disaster area the government gave them money anyway. I would say that this will be the case here as well. This flooding is incredible. I have never seen anything like it. I wish it would stop raining. I swear those clouds on radar have not moved since 6:00 this morning.

Here's a video from yesterday and it has gotten MUCH worse today. All of middle Tennessee is under water. I am stranded at my house because my driveway is gone. It's a quarter mile long and the only way out. But my house is fine so I'm good.

We went thru the exact same thing in 08' here in Indiana. FEMA will be there with money to help out. They ask constantly to help with anything and everything
Our house was spared but our shed was under a foot of water. I wasn't worried about replacing anything...we just cleaned off the mud and put it all back in place. My halloween items were all plastic in there so it wasn't much damage, the shed floor DID rot away very soon afterwards tho'.
The good news is people will be tossing things right and left and if your town will let you take curb items...you will score some awesome things for your haunt!
