Well my forum friends, I am alive and kicking. Was just sitting here catching my breath for a moment at work and realized that it is the end of April.
Dude, I have not done anything for Halloween. I have not spoken the word Halloween, I have not looked at anything Halloween related. OMG. For the past several years I have lived and breathed Halloween 24/7.
What has happened to me? Was I abducted and now returning?
I look around now and think to myself, I have to much to do, and letting 5 months go without doing anything, I am now way far behind schedule.
I will say that I have been head deep in debt, (still am), volunteering my time in to many stressful jobs, taking care of kids, bought a used hot tub on the cheap that has cost me every penny I make, (bought it in November, it is April and still not operational, ) work, work, work.
My halloween friends, if you ever see me gone for that long again, please send out an SOS and come save me. It only means that everything else in life has destracted me from my one true passion (HALLOWEEN) and I must be saved. Brought back to reality. Nothing else is more important.
Glad to be back, missed you guys. Now gotta go and work on something halloween related.

I've never started until around August. Since I found this place, I start a little earlier each year. I'm always WAY too burned out to start in November! LOL I came back around about 2 weeks ago - the earliest for me ever! And of courrsseee, nooooww I have all these ideas starting to run around in my head!!
I'm ready for fall already!!

I usually procrastinate like HELL, and don't start projects until October. This yer I've moved, and actually have a garage with workbenches and outside power, making things easier for me. I want to get a jump on things, considering this year I won't see any TOTers, as I live in the boonies now.

spookmaster i live so far out in the boonies, I have to entice my friends with adult beverages to get them out to my h-ween party. Absolutely no tot's and yet I decorate 7 acres. That just shows I am insane.

Just returned to the forum myself, Princess.
I let winter be winter, and the spring rains do their thing, but about the time the grass needs its first mowing in May, I start wishing death on weeds, bugs and the lawn.
My thoughts turn to chilly breezes and dark nights, warm apple cider and crunchy leaves, shifting shadows and foggy mornings.
Halloween prep gets me through the bread-oven days of Summer, so I usually start about now.
There's nothing wrong with taking 4-6 months off. It refreshes the imagination and keeps the spirit alive.
Honestly, if you keep at all year, every year, Halloween would become a chore.

Where are you? I'm in upstate NY...specifically in Dexter, right on Lake Ontario. Population about 1200 souls.

So glad to have you back girl! I can tell you that I too have not done much with halloween and sadly lack of funds is also the reason. I have a son going off to college and I am still trying to pay off some debt myself. Since I am trying to pay off in large amounts I am always without money
Im almost done but then like I said college
anyhoo you are not alone, lots of us have not done a thing so far. I am waiting til summer but I am not as lucky as you to have all that land
Keep that faith girl you will get it all done and it will be fabulous
Linus: You've heard about fury and a woman scorned?
Charlie Brown: Yes, I guess I have.
Linus: Well that is nothing compared to the fury of a woman who has been cheated out of tricks or treats!
