I am the perfect example of "You snooze, You lose."
Yesterday on my way to work, I passed a church with a large blue thing n pallets in front of it. I instantly recognized the color. They were blue foam blocks! (at minimum 2" x 18" x 36" - didn't see them up close). There was a pile on pallets about the size of a small SUV with a sign on it, "FREE!"
What in the world possesed me to keep driving to work and then NOT call my dad who had a truck to go pick them up is beyond me...
Well, I FINALLY remembered about them this morning and, well, you guessed by the title of the thread - THEY WERE ALL GONE!!!
Good Luck to the lucky person that picked them up. I am so downtrodden at the thought of how many tombstones I could have made with them...
Live and learn.....but I can cry about it, too.

oh dude.

I've lucked into large sized scraps on trash day in my neighborhood, and just backed up and ran over and threw them in the back of my car and headed on into work.
It would have killed me to drive by that much of it!I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

A lot of the stores I shop in seem to have limited quantity of items and I've kicked myself way too many times to say missing out on something that I later went back for. I know how you feel

I feel your pain! A few weeks ago, I drove behind Sears and saw several sheets of pink foam board by the dumpster but of course I was in a hurry somewhere and of course they were gone when I came back by later. The worst part is, they most likely just went into the garbage truck where no one will be able to use them. UGH!

That is a bummer. I love finding free stuff to use for Halloween. I know how it feels to not get there in time.

Ugh. That story makes me sick. Foam is good for SO many things. Maybe the wind picked up and blew them away

I drove by the back of the home depot and they have a huge dumpster full of lotta stuff that are defected, i saw lots of plywood sheets ( perfect for my next project) but i don't think they wanna see dumpster divers around (LOL) so.... maybe next time i'll ask one of the employees or the manager if they wanna donate some of the stuff for a good cause. hahaha.
