I'm not usually a big fan of animated halloween candy bowls but here's two I had trouble resisting. Ended up buying the Raven one.
Animated Raven Candy Bowl
Just ordered this animated Raven candy dish from BrandsOnSale. From posts I've read I think Spencers/Spirit Halloween had it several years ago, and I think it might be an older Gemmy product. I just love this animated raven. I may see if I can separate him from the candy dish and use elsewhere in my haunt, but in any event I think he's pretty cool.
Here's a link to him in action:

BTW I did a somewhat exhaustive search to see where he was selling and what the best price was and it seems like they are the only ones selling it right now. They also sell from an Amazon account but as you'll notice the shipping ends up being more expensive going that route so I ordered directly from their home site.
Animated Spider Candy Bowl
I also liked this Escaping Candy Bowl from Tekky Toys. Could be quite fun but looks like you need some space to let him run on.

i wonder if the spider could be modded.
Life is too short to not do what makes us happy, keeps us sane, or both.

I love that raven candy bowl. The bird would be great perched on a tombstone, squawking at the TOTs. I'd want to change his voice to something more realistic, though.
I have a dish that I got a couple of years ago that has a little Grim Reaper on it. When you reach for the goodies he leans forward, covers the candy with his arms and yells at you. He says stuff like "Get your own candy!" and "This stuff will rot your teeth!".I...have many names...

I've had the raven bowl for about 5 years now. My local grocery had went all out in halloween items and NO ONE bought anything. I had my pick of anything I wanted for 75% off and I think I paid 5 bucks for the dish. Sadly the store learned it's lesson and never sold halloween items again

Nice price on that! I generally don't think to check out grocery stores near halloween time for mdse but did last year and also came away with some nice stuff that had been marked down before halloween. Last year I don't think stores made out as well as in the past with Halloween and with more and more places selling stuff, it's hard for grocery stores and drug stores to compete. Last year I bought from a Lucky's grocery store this disgusting head prop eating a mouse that moved in and out of it's mouth while it chewed and talked about it. Really gross but it worked great and I ended up with one because those are the kinds of things that people will get entranced with...I know because I stood there with other customers watching the prop go through its moves for quite some time. We all said it was the most gross thing ever but couldn't walk away until we had played it a few times. All women shoppers too. Go figure the appetite for a mouse. I figure the head will become a pirate on a raft who was happy to have anything to eat after being lost at sea for a while! Strange how the halloween mind works...
So back to the raven bowl. Do you remember if it's a Gemmy product; I'm curious because I think I read that somewhere? How has it held up? What did your ToTers think of it? With shipping I ended up paying quite a bit more than you and thought about buying it for a few weeks before placing my order. Since I was pretty sure it had been out in the marketplace for a few years at least (wow 5 at least!), I decided I liked it enough to bite the bullet. I also hate trying to track down something I saw and passed on and then it becomes really hard to find. BrandsOnSale must have bought all the remaining inventory!

i love both the candy bowls. it would be hard to take just one. my first haunt was The Night is Right Game Show, and i was Ma Barker. instead of picking door 1 or door 2 or door 3, they got to pick out of an animated candy dish. they could chose to pick out of a witch that wiggled when they reached in, a coffin that creacked open and then shook, or a cranium that creacked open. now i also have a hand holding a bowl that backs up when you reach for it, a bowl where a hand comes down on yours, and a crashed witch that wiggles when you reach into her skirt. love them all. otaku, your grim reaper one sounds to cute
