Hey hows it going, hope I posted this in the right section if not maybe they can move it.Well Im going to be moving this year,Id say no later then July, moving out to the Desert area of either so Cal,or Prescott AZ and most of t he houses we have been looking at in our price range or really spread out,you dont have houses close together,so Im guessing we wont get to many trick or treaters coming by,I have lived in the city all of my life and of course being in the city we get lots of trick or treaters every Halloween so people enjoy all the props we have setup in the yard.Well even if we dont get any trick or treaters I am still going to decorate my entire yard just like I do here in the city even more so this year because I will have more money this year to buy more props, for me to enjoy, because I love Halloween so much.Just wondering if you guys would do the same thing if you were going to move like I am into an area where everything is spread out and you may not (most likely not) get people coming by and trick or treating would you still go all out and decorate ????Ok I would like to hear what you guys think. Thanks for reading !

Well, I would see first before buying lots of new props. I live in a strange format of city. We have packed neighborhoods, then huge empty fields of farm houses... then more packed houses, then huge emtpy fields. The few houses In those fields, trust me, I don
t think they see more than 5 kids on halloween night. So, if you want to do it for yourself, go nuts. You might attract some kids, depend on the traffic too. if many people see your house, and it cool enouth to come out far to see it, good. But be prepared if you get not much visits if you are too much in the empty spaces.

i think i would give it a shot. if it's very eye catching word of mouth and you might be surprised. we traveled 2 hours last oct. to see a farm house that was called the pumpkin patch. it was awesome. they had even a mini haunted house, a corn maze, and a projector running of the great pumpkin charlie brown playing on the side of the barn. you could sit on bales of hay and watch.

I don't decorate for the TOTers, I decorate for myself and my family because I love Halloween! We live in a small town, the houses are close together. We've never gotten more than 6 TOTs any halloween since we've lived here--10 years now. Last year I even left a big bucket of candy on the porch since both me and my hubby took the kids out, not one piece of candy was missing from that bucket when we came home! And there were king size candy bars in that bucket!

I would decorate no matter what. If you love halloween, it makes you happy, you have fun decorating, keep it up!

You never know what the future holds. Right now I would love to have the situation you are looking at. We've become pretty popular and now I have to work hard keeping us low key. I'm afraid that if we get even busier than the neighbors will start to resent us and I don't want that.

I decorate for my family and friends. The tots are the ones getting the bonus. We usually only get like 5 -10 tots and they are neighbors. I live in an area where there plenty of homes close together. I would buy and build and display exactly how You want to. We usually travel atleast a 1 and a half each year because all the places here are pretty beat.

As a kid I lived in the Country 5 miles from town so we drove through the forest to different homes out in the sticks that decorated. I will tell you those homes had a lasting impact on me more then the homes in town. Its alot different Trick or Treating with a group of 8 to 10 kids in the city and seeing them get candy safely versus being the only TOT in the forest walking through a yard haunt hoping you wont pee your pants! Decorate it up and soon people will come to you.

You could also put up fliers for advertisement, if you put it up a week in advance and invite people to come check it out, you might not do great the first yr, but the second probably would be really good
