Hey. What's up everyone? I've just gotta say that I'm excited... for Christmas my roomie gave me a $20 gift certificate to amazon.com and I finally just used it! Here's the list of my books, that only came out to $33 after the certificate...
Eerie Elegance: How To Host A Haunt And Other Fabulous Frights
Halloween Propmaker's Handbook Halloween Propmaker's Handbook
Extreme Halloween: The Ultimate Guide to Making Halloween Scary Again
Extreme Pumpkins II: Take Back Halloween and Freak Out a Few More Neighbors
... I want to order some about how to paint a face because I realize that I have no skill whatsoever in that area... but I'm hoping that this books will give me some inspiration about some more stuff to do for this year.![]()

Nice list. I just got two makeup books about how to paint a face and you may like them: http://www.wolfefxmakeup.com/index.p...id=3&Itemid=20
I got volumes 1 & 2 but I don't see volume 1 listed. But, I think Volume 2 is the best. It's 'horror' designs. The layout of the book is neat. No words. Just four pictures showing the build-up and the final design. You just copy what they are doing.Last edited by Terra; 04-04-2010 at 06:10 AM.

Thanks for the link Terra... I must admit that I ordered that. It looks really good, though.

I bought Eerie Elegance also. There's not alot of new ideas in it, but I like the recipes section. I collect books about Halloween so if I can use something out of them it's fine.

These are my books I believe they're all here. They range from fiction and history to parties and props.

My favorite fiction is October Dreams by Richard Chitzmar
My favorite history is Death Makes a Holiday by David Skal and Halloween Merrymaking by Diane Arkins (though I have a new one I haven't read yet)
My favorite party book might actually be Eerie Elegance (because it's mostly about how to throw a party). but I don't usually get party ideas from books mostly just recipes.
My favorite prop book(and there aren't many out there) visually How To Haunt Your House can't be beat and would be great for people new to haunting but there is not alot of new info in it. I get most of my ideas from this forum and other places on the net.
I may be in the minority on this but I still love Martha Stewart's Halloween. She really did Halloween before any other magazine or show caught on.
I also collect magazines. I have almost every Halloween issue of every publication since 1997 (only if they have decorations and such). As well as all the issues of Happy Halloween Magazine.
I recently bought A Halloween How-To by Leslie Pratt Bannatyne I have been reading it and so far it looks good and covers alot of stuff including Halloween Destinations.
Other favorites (not pictured) is Trick r' Treat tales of mayhem, mystery, and mischief. It is the companion book to the movie but has some history and is a very very beautiful book full of Halloween eye candy and John Carpenter's Halloween. It's fiction. Until I read it I never knew Michael Myers was a killer because of an ancient curse on two lovers on Samhain.

I bought Eerie Elegance last year. Its in my collection of various Halloween-related books, both fiction & non-fiction. The author, Britta Peterson, also has a website of the same name (Eerie Elegance: How to Host a Haunt and Other Fabulous Frights) with even more Halloween tips & goodies.
