I was in the garage this weekend, and the sad realization is that I have waaay too much stuff. (Well, at least for this house). Our old house had sooo much storage, we never even noticed it.

My goal is to go thru the 12 or 20 rubbermaid bins of stuff and pare it down a little, maybe just combine where possible.

But the big question is.... do I retire some old reliables??

My monster in box is now 5 years old, and a crowd favorite...but it takes up a TON of space. Time to take the guts and make something new?

Same for my trashcan trauma. Such an awesome prop, but it isn't space smart.

Then, there's the 10 sections (maybe more, I lost count...) of fence. Nowhere to put it! Ugh.

Add in air cannons, compressors, hoses, miles and miles of extension cords, gravedigger, about 20 tombstones, etc etc etc....

Storage units are just too expensive and I am taking up half the garage right now.

Maybe get an outdoor Halloween only shed?....It's amazing how much you can cram into one of those.......To get into the right mind set, Think of it as an oversized outdoor closet ....ZR

No construction here, we are renting for 2 years. We put house on market in May 2008 and just sold our old house the week of Christmas 2009! We had to write a big fat check to sell it... was glad to do it, but we signed a long lease in the meantime.

We have been the model of transience... I moved into a friend's bedroom for 4 months after taking a job. My wife and son moved up in August, and we moved into another friend's vacant townhouse. Then...we moved into a rental house. THEN, that owner was so broke he couldn't fix a leaky roof... so now we are finally in a nice house for a while!

I am tarrrrrreed of moving! ;-) We had a storage unit, but they go for $150/mo and that's a lot of scratch for a year.

I am doing the same thing this year. I am going to get rid of all the cute stuff and most of the witch room stuff like bottles and the doubles of stuff like cauldrons. I am going to focus more on the 'scare' than the almost museum style rooms. Its looks pretty nice and I am proud to show people thru my walk thru, buttttttt to much stuff is a headache to store. we use an 8x10 metal shed filled to the top and nearly buldgeing out the doors and most of our 12x12 shed (13 ft peak) for our halloween stuff. and if your not orginazied (me) its still not enough space. oh and I can barely get to my computer ,because this room is also filled with a wardrobe for costumes and 12 big boxes ( i just counted lol) of halloween STUFF.

For everyone that says they have to much stuff! Send it to me!!! I will find room to store it all. But all kidding aside I don't know how some people store all this stuff? I have half my basement full and I don't think I have a lot of stuff. It's a shame we all live so far apart it would be cool to do a meet and swap.
