So yesterday when I was at walmart I noticed this humongous cardboard viking boat display. It was like over 6 feet tall and 15 feet long, with a mast and dragon prow and I immediately thought how cool would that be for Halloween. Well, i talked to the manager there about it and they said it would not be offered to anyone or even tossed, but sent back to the manufacturer. I'm sad because that would have been so cool in my driveway with a fog chiller inside and pirate skeletons.![]()

I was interested in that as well, just saw it today. Since you were brave enough to ask, try going to a different one? Please let us know how things work out, if you manage to get one we may be inspired to ask too. (Im a chicken, bawk!)

Yeah I saw it too it from the animated movie How To Train Your Dragon. Looked neat set up in the store.
I seriously doubt it will be be sent back, it probably will be tossed or given to a employee. I can not believe they would waste the money to ship it back. Probably just don't want to deal with it so they use the standard answer so people won't think twice about it.

Dreamworks holds the rights to all images from the movie. It proabably will be sent back, so that the image is not used in a manner they do not approve of.

With the crappy economy they might really be sending it back to save it for the next relevant movie or holiday...

my daughter use to demo and sometimes they sent back, and sometimes they got to keep the stuff, or throw the stuff. see if you can get a number of the company and call them. might be they put out so many and they go from store to store. wouldn't hurt.

I used to be in good with the manager of my local (small) video store and she had the policy ...."first come first served"..if i wrote my name and number on the back it was mine unless i failed to show then.....tough luck. Larger stores, i can't say. Try calling corporate and ask for their policy on these things. A lot of stores go out of their way in terms of customer service. One thing is, the display may remain property of the movie company as they don't want their display used in a light that may appear negative to their production.
