I was just wondering if a haunted house Bed and Breakfast would be a profitable thing. Do people going to bed and breakfast places enjoy a nice house, or would a haunted house setup appeal to only a small group?

I would like to know how people think.

I gotta tell ya, I think it would be very niche market. Most people flock to haunted bed and breakfast joints because they heard the place is haunted for real but if you intentionally make it appear to be so, you may only get a few people.

Btw are you buying a house/building for this or are you going to use your own home? I'm just asking out of curiosity.

I just was brainstorming ideas for an investment. I personally have not visited a bed and breakfast, so I don't know, if it was decorated as an old house and haunted, how it would go over.

Would this B & B, by chance, have a sliding bookcase hiding a secret passageway to the rooms? Cuz I'd TOTALLY book a room in a place like that.

I went to one (my first and my last one too) last year at Kingston for Fort Fright, and with talking to the owners, most of the clientel are mostly older couples (retirees) I recommend to visit a few and see what you think, talk to the owners. Myself, personaly, hated the feeling of sleeping in someones house, was curiouis about it, and tried it, Me, and my wife, quickly learned we are not house and breakfast people. If like Weirdbob mention, if it's your own house, realised you won't have anymore privacy.

I recommend you creat a haunting museum/house of some sort! That, I promise you, would bring in the people you want to meet!

Hubby and I have dreamed of a haunted restaurant.. however like a B&B it would be a very niche market, and in a small town....... sounds cool though.. you'd just get the freaks visiting!! lol

there's a b&b in i believe waterloo. it's supposed to be really haunted. i've thought about checking it out. i think you should touch base with owners plus stay at one if at all possible. i know the stanley motel gets lots of guests who want to stay there because it's haunted

I would stay at a real haunted B&B, but not a fake one. I love B&Bs. We are actually considering turning the main house on the farm in to a B&B once the in-laws retire. It's in a perfect location.

    Darkmaster,

Here's a B&B that has gone that route. I happened across the website by accident a while back, haven't been there, nor have I heard any reviews. Just thought it may give you some ideas.
