Ive been to the one in Hollywood and I must say...it is the most professional haunt ive ever been to...and its scary as hell! I am in awe every year that I go, and I make it a point to go every year! It is a definite must that you should go. I live in California so I cant travel all the way to Orlando for it...but I hear and see that it is almost double the size of the Hollywood haunt. So I vote YES you should go, you wont regret it at all!

I love it! IT IS A BLAST....but crowded as hel!!
I usually go twice and get the express pass so I do not have to wait in the long lines.
They are not cheap but some of the houses had wait times of better than an hour. Crazy hot last year, I would have gone metal in those lines. Needless to say I am a fan of the pass.
Last year there were eight house and six scare zones.
The scare zones were just OK, the "Universal Monster" houses were frikin great, loads of detail and atmosphere.
Biggest complaints were the crowds, heat, and the big $$$$ beers.
Something to consider, it was an issue for us anyway, is to avoid the houses until the sun goes down.
I could not see a thing and my eyes could not adjust to dark quick enough. I had to literally follow the emergency exit signs to get through the house. The actors scared me..... because I could not see them. Just my two cents.

There is also Howl O Scream at Busch Gardens in Tampa, 90 minutes from Universal.
Here are some of my pics and reviews on the two parks from last year.

Awsome insight. Noahbody I see you mentioned they were not cheap. What is the pricing (roughly) Im sure it will change based on the economy and how popular they are. Is there 1 set price for everything of is there different prices for each thing there is?!?!?!

Admission is a set price that varies by the night. Friday and Saturday are more expensive but they are open two hours later. Truth be known I do not know the general admission price as I only looked at the Pass holder/Florida Resident pricing.
You could try and find a Florida resident to buy the tickets and you can save a lot on admission. The Express ticket is separate and was $50-$70 each, again depending on what night, no discount on Express!
Busch Gardens is cheaper and has a nice deal for $20 + admission (separate ticket) you get a buffet (food drink and dessert), a show, and early addmission....The Fright Feast.
BG only has six houses and four scare zones. But they are not as packed most of the time and its still a lot of fun. Roller coasters are open as well.

Let's just say that when I first attended, it lit the fire of my Halloween passion. It's been 7 years since and I'm still going strong. It is super scary and highly detailed. Plus, you can drink and ride roller coasters at night!

Thats good to know I actually have a few friends that live in Florida that can hook me up on resident tickets. Wow so its an extra 50-70 for express on top of the actually entrance fee. That can work especially if I get the Florida reisdent tickets. Thanks so much for the heads up on that pricing.

Try a search on these forums... tons of comments about this event. There is at least one member that is a scareactor there. Plus, some tips like my favorite...
...Race past the first 2 or 3 houses and start on 3 or 4. You'll stay ahead of the crowd all night and ride everything else. It works!
I doubt we'll go this year due to new baby coming in May, but maybe just maybe we can "visit family" in Orlando again this year! (we also have a family member that is a scareactor...)
Maybe you know someone that works there for a discount. ;-)
