Thought I would share this with my fellow haunters.

Working in retail has its drawbacks (ie working saturday when I could be out at yard sales), but there sometimes is a plus side

Occasionally, there are displays or fixtures and even stock that gets damaged or display materials that are nor required that would normally get trashed.

Luckily my colleges know my passion for halloween and I sometimes get offered items that I can use in my haunt, for which I have to pay a nominal amount

scores so far include 2 mannequins full body but headless - paid 25c each (sorry no pic as they are in the attic)

6 display legs for $1 - I have already done a paint job on one and the intent is to use four of these as legs for a table

12 bowls with fingers - these cost me 25c for the 12 - these were from halloween makeup displays - I will be using these with PVC candles inside

Motor from an animated deer - the deer was a display that had been totally wrecked. I salvaged the motor at a cost to me of 25c !

Also PVC pipe - ideal for PVC candles ... these have the large store sacks on them and get trashed once the bags are used up. Normally the get trashed but I have started salvaging them from the checkstands.

The store policy is that they cannot give this stuff away to staff, so have to pay a nominal amount but maybe retail employment isnt so bad after all.

I love the paint job on the leg. That is going to be a very cool table when you complete it! Nice score on all the rest.

I also work in retail and have scored some of the oddest things in the world.
All my foam and pallet wood come from work.

I have one of the bowls! Love being in a small town where no one asks for that kind of stuff at the end of the season
