Is anyone else planning on scaling back their display due to Halloween night falling on a Sunday?
Last year, when it fell on Saturday, I had about 30 TOTers instead of 70+. I suspect this year will be more of the same, or even worse, due to the Sunday date.
My wife is appalled that I'd even consider scaling back.

I would think that it would have some effect. I had to move to an apartment and can't have a haunt this year. We were trying to come up with solutions, but since Halloween is on a Sunday this year, I think I will just skip it. If I did get to do a haunt this year, I think I would scale back. Then start ramping up again towards the late week years.

I can guarantee the city/state will change Trick or Treat to Saturday for us here.

I am thinking of doing the same this year. I like to change the theme, so this year I think I will put more focus inside (for the Party) of the house then out. I don't get that many ToT's, last year I got around 25, which that number keeps falling every year.
I will be putting more attention to Window displays then yard displays this year as well. Starting with my peppers ghost in one of them. Going with the Witch Theme, I will be using less items outside as well. Like Craig, my girlfriend thinks I've lost it and is in a state of shock!

Since we only put stuff out on Halloween last year anyway I don't see the point in scaling down. We had about 200 tot's this past halloween which was amazing. So I think with everyone that said they would be back for sure next year we woulden't want to disapoint them with a small display.
halloween is a super cool holiday.

My numbers were down significantly last year as well, which I attribute to the holiday falling on Saturday. My past recollection of Sunday Halloweens is that we have a lot of TOT's. There is nothing else competing for time on Sunday night. It will be more like a normal weeknight when the kids have school the next day and parents aren't going out to other adult functions. I'm guessing we'll be double what we had last year.

I will be scaling down. It's not due to the fact that Halloween in on Sun. It will be due to the fact we are trying to save all our money for our wedding so there isn't any real surplus to buy a bunch of things. I'm working on getting two more 3 axis skulls and programs so that will be my main focus this year. I have accumulated a lot of other stuff over the years so that will be out. Since we are so far out in the burbs our high is only about 35 children anyways.

Halloween will always be on the 31st for me and i will never scale back, even if i do it all for just me and my family. It gets bigger every year and this one will certainly be no exception.
EVERY DAY TO ME IS HALLOWEEN!
