I spent the last week displaying my work at a jewelry industry show. I found a bunch of really talented people doing really cool creepy, gory, or just plain skull related work in glass and/or silver. I'll be another week out here and I've stowed the business cards "somewhere safe" in my luggage so I'll have to post that info when i get home. One artist from japan does the most awesome glass skulls i have ever seen. I'll photo the piece i got from him and post it [again when i get home]. He had a pendant that had a hinged half skull in glass that flipped up to reveal a frog underneath. the frog's eyes peeked through the eye sockets of the skull when it was flipped down. bizarre, but very cool. another glass artist makes severed limbs, anatomically correct organs, and the like as beads and pendants. she also makes realistic vegetables in case you need to frighten carnivores with healthy options. Need a festering wound covered finger on your choker? I know where to send you. the other artist works primarily in silver and uses a lot of cemetery gates in her pendant designs. Her pendants have moving parts [like the gates open] and often reveal something cool inside. None of this work is inexpensive--these folks are handmaking tiny pieces of art in materials and with tools that don't come cheap, but they are gorgeous to view. I'll get more info up once i find all the business cards and get my skull pendant photographed.

It's actually "bated". It means to hold one's breath.

bate : to reduce the force or intensity of : restrain <with bated breath>

Thanks, Cadaverino! It's funny, I guess I've always heard it in conversation, but I honestly don't recall seeing it written. That makes a heck of a lot more sense.

Anyway, looking forward to hearing more about the vendors and their works!

Surely you aren't surprised to see me here. My Halloween fanatiscism goes waaaaaay back! I'm actually amazed that more of our Dark Side teammates aren't members here, there are a few though.

Not surprised that you like Halloween, just surprised to see a familiar name I didn't know about this forum until I got contacted about a custom order and she referred me here I had started a thread here that I can't find now about Etsy artists that are here, perhaps you didn't see it but I was not familiar with anyone who responded ♥
