Hi all,
I want to make a tombstone for my daughter. She has a Cockatoo that she thinks of as her baby. So, I want the tombstone to read:
Loved her bird without a doubt..
Found her with her eyes pecked out.
I would love to have the skeleton of a bird sitting on top of the tombstone. Does anyone have any idea of where I could find something like this? Not a real one. something cheap and made of plastic or something durable.

I made a bird from 16ga. galvenised wire, wrapped it with masking tape, covered the tape with a white epoxy? an art supply product that smelled sort of like Elmer's glue, then painted it. I screwed it to a tree outside, it looked good for 2 or 3 years in the climate changes of northwesten Illinois!
Remember to bend a tight loop (use needle-nose pliers) at a toe of at least one foot when doing the wire skeleton to put a mounting screw through.

sorry i can't help, but looks like gym's idea is good. so when you get the stone and bird done, i would love to see pictures. i like what the stone will read

at the dollar store , they usually have balsa wood dinosaur skeleton puzzles in the toy section, I wonder if you could just cut it down a bit here and there .

you know halloween barb, i've seen those. maybe then coat it with something like plaster of paris so it doesn't look like a wood bird skeleton. i think you really got something there
