Ideas for a "Touch Me" Table?

    Hi everyone,

Every year, the item in my yard haunt that gets the best reaction is a simple gelatin brain placed in the bowl of a trick-or-treat door greeter. The neighborhood TOTs squeal in delight as they poke it, and dare their friends and younger siblings to touch it to. Best of all, a realistic-looking brain costs $4 and takes a whopping 10 minutes to make, so it is definitely a good "bang for the buck." I think the kids like the interactivity of it; you actually have to do something (touch it) rather than just looking.

I had the idea to expand on that this year, and have a "mad scientist" type table, with lots of glowing, bubbling potions (from blacklights and aquarium pumps) and creepy things that the kids can touch. In addition to the brain mold, I know they make a heart gelatin mold that would be effective. A big bowl of eyeballs would be cool too, although I hope to find something a bit more realistic than peeled grapes. Does anyone have any other ideas for things that would be creepy for kids to touch, but wouldn't make a huge mess? Or would someone let me borrow their pet rat, snake, or tarantula?

    Thanks!

haha, you ought to talk to the pod. he has a menagerie of pets. there is also out there a hand gelatin mold, eyeball gelatin mold, face gelatin mold, and an alien gelatin mold. the alien comes in two parts so it can be disected.

i would think even though it's an ice cube tray, you could use it for gelatin too.

Just make sure it's a pet that is ok with large numbers of people and constantly being picked up, pet, etc... What about those plastic rubbery fake fishing worms? Some of them come slime coated. Or you could even use real worms if you wanted them to squirm and wiggle.

You sound exactly like my friend Chelsea haha.
I'd confront him. If you do mess up he'll probably think it's cute, and if he doesn't you won't really have to see him that much anymore
