Has anyone ever set up a "treats"table? This is something other than candy that the kiddies or parents could chose from. The treats could be cupcakes, donuts, juice box's extra. I was thinking maybe I'll set up a cooler with juice box's and if the kids want one they would trade in four pieces of candy. (this might make some pearents happyier.?

i don't see that as happening, but i've been wrong before. even most parents around here push the kids to get as much candy as they can. then a lot of them put the candy up and allot them so much a week. that way it's a loonnngggg time before they have to buy any themselves.

One of my neighbors does something like that, but with sodas.

I guess it's not as healthy as juice.

We have had some Jungle Juice for the parents, on a different table with someone guarding it so we don't have any drunk kiddies even though it would be hilarious seeing a drunk spiderman. We also have done a BBQ at my friends house where if people are willing enough can come and get something. Mostly just for close friends and neighbors, but it is open to anyone.
We stopped checking for monsters under our beds when we realized they were inside of us

Some of the local dentists around here take candy after Halloween and send it to the troops. I think a treats table is a fun idea, but I wouldn't worry about taking candy off their hands. If the parents don't want the candy, they can get rid of it in other ways.

halloweenrocks08,
i think it is a great idea to try...like biggie we provide 'treats' to the parents....bottled water, beer or wine. but why not for the kiddos? you could even do a can food drive or like you mentioned candy return for maybe something like pizza, or hotdogs...
my only thought is that if anybody gets sick could they hold you liable? i worked at a theme park for years and watched them throw out tons of food, from burgers to sweets. they couldn't even donate it because someone might sue them if they should get sick from anything. that is big corperate....we are talking halloween neighborhood....just a thought to consider.

I like the treats table idea, but not the trading part. I think when you had more than a couple tots at a time it could get confusing and messy.
Hello, I want my book. Bonjour, je veux mon livre.
