So currently my haunt resides at my parents house, a nice size property. It's there cause I live in an apt. I do a cemetery theme, but eventually I want to have some kind of haunted house walkthrough. They currently don't have a garage or bldg big enough for this, but thats something to worry about later. Basically to keep with my theme I want to add a crematory to my cemetery. So this is the start of my concept I wanted to write it down before I lose the idea. This won't happen for years, but I wanted to see what you guys thought and what additions you might have so I can make this awesome, I want to play a lot with atmosphere.

    Morumen Cemetery Crematory

    Building Single Car Garage size

Garage door up created the crematory façade.
Door to left or right turns into a half door the looks into the office with monitors and such and the cue line passes by it and they get an introduction by the employee.

The setup will be lit by fluorescent tube lights hanging above them, this is so when the look up they won’t be able to see higher then the lights. There will be a platform that is higher then the haunt that will control everything.

Story: All visitors are medical students who are taking a tour of our crematory.

Bring the visitors into a small hallway that leads to a decrepit elevator. Then do the hellevator affect, and have them exit on the opposite side they entered. They enter into the freezer where the bodies are stored, there is a wall of freezer doors, and there is an embalming table with a body covered with a sheet, some security cameras and a speaker in one of the corners.

The dr (tour guide) starts talking about the history of the crematory and about the freezer room. He is suddenly interrupted by the loud speaker who tells him to go to the furnace room. He tells the tour to not move, and don’t touch the bodies, he’ll be right back. If there is an emergency they should go through the door he goes through and find him in the furnace room for help.

After he is gone, you start to hear whispers and feel a breeze that moves the sheet on the body on the table. The body moans and sits up. It then turns it’s head towards crowd, twist it’s feet off the table and hops down. Moves towards the crowd pushing them out the door towards the furnace room.

Furnace room has a big furnace, and bins with different personal items that were taking from the victims. There is a smell of burnt ness and a horrible smell. The dr is seen talking to him self about a problem with the bodies coming to life because of a chemical spill and turning to the crowd telling them they need to get out of here and points them in the direction of the rest of the haunt.

From here all depends on the size of space. There will be different scares with “zombies” that will lead them through to the exit.

I hope to do some room mockups that I will add to this thread when I get them done.

Nice concept. What about background music?

There will definitely be a soundtrack to it, but I doubt music, except for maybe cheesy elevator music you hear in a doctors office. Mostly background sounds and atmosphere.

I'd probably pee my pants if I went through this.

Yea that sounds like a great idea and I'm sure with years of planning it could be executed flawlessly.

It sounds like you have some great ideas. Seems like planning a haunt almost takes as much work as the actual construction.

I also had problem with space. I really could not use my garage or house, so I bought an Army tent:

Here is a sample Craigslist listing for one:

    Army General Purpose (GP)Medium Tent

It works great! I can start setting up early and not worry about rain or snow. It is large enough for three separate displays and you can have a door almost anywhere. I love it.

    Could this work for you?

I definitely have a vision in my house, granted there is no structure to base it off of, so we'll see I will show you guys some mockups of ideally what I want in the near future,

Looks alot like the tent the grave digging Co. erects for funearls.
Walk into such a tent see the coffin, the flowers, rug over the fresh dirt, folding chairs..then trip and fall into the grave and enter they world's scariest haunted venue!
    Now wouldn't that be something?
I think the most purely "Fun" part would be the looks on other's faces as they see all the people entering the tent and none of them exiting the tent!??
    A totally subterraineon experience!
what are the two most basic human fears?
    1) "What's under the Ground!?"
    2) "What's under the Water?"
"My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

Ok so I've been working on a mockup, it has all the main details, granted I have no building to actually do this in, so everything would change if I had a space to do it, but this shows the general concept I would like to do some day, it's only a two room haunt, but you're not pushed through fast.

This first picture shows from the outside, the brown walls would be a facade that goes in front of the open garage door. You can see the fake office to the left.

The next picture shows the office more and then shows you were the visitors enter, the blue doors will be a hellavator.

This picture shows the exit from the elevator which leads you into the freezer/embalming room. Here you can see one of the freezers will have an open door and actor lying in it.

This picture shows you the ebalming table which will have another actor. The actors jobs will be to be subtle at first but eventually push the visitors through the furnace room door. You can also see the command station to the left where the controller can see all of the haunt.

This is the door the actors will force them to go through and follow the doctor

Finally we have the furnace room which will have the table in it with a charred body outline, and the containers of various personall affects and such. There will be another scare in this room too, just haven't decided yet.

So that's where I want to go with it some day. I wish I could do it sooner then later, but it will come when it is meant to.
