Looking for some opinions, and I am sure I will hear them!
We are looking to buy some more books, like "How To Haunt Your House", which we do have.
Yes, I know... "everything one needs can be found through search engines!" Trust me, I've been informed of that statement before by some folks here.
But we are looking for books that other haunters have read and found to be good, usable, accurate with sound information/instructions, and you simple liked it.
We are old school, we prefer books to computer when it comes to working on projects outside. Yes, we do print out information and keep it in binders; which is another book. Besides used books are cheaper than ink now days, and it is a form of recycling. I'll use the search engines to buy the books used!
So... if you have an arsenal of good reference material that you still look to, Please share the titles. We are always looking for good material on every haunt subject, from basic theatrical make-up to servos, prop building to lighting.
An in advance... Thank you for the information!![]()

I got extreme halloween and Making Faces (Playing God). I wouldn't recommend either. The first is how to attach pumpkins to each other to make snakes, crabs and such but, nothing really unique. The second book is basically for showing actors in and out of makeup and the psychology behind it. Not a how to. Good luck with your search. I'm anxious to see some of the good books that come up myself.

I'm fond of Period Make-up for the Stage. I have no clue why it's so expensive from many of these sellers but at the cheap end, I think you'd find it to be an interesting read and a good investment.

hallorenescene[, I'd definitely be interested in hearing about which books you like best. I'm particularly interested in techniques for depicting dead flesh and wounds (gee, big surprise I know!) and period make-up.

The Propmaker's Molding and Casting Handbook by Dean Thayer (I think that's what it's called) is a great resource for exactly what it claims to be
