I went out to get the mail the other day and was chatting with my neighbor across the street. His little boy came up to talk with me:
"Miss Nancy, now that Christmas is over, I have an idea. You should put a red sweater and pants on one of your skeletons and a red hat with a cotton ball and use some of that snow stuff you have to make a beard. Get it? A skeleton Santa!"
I told him that was a great idea and that I actually have a Santa suit that would fit my bucky skeleton.
"Oh, and then you should hang him from the roof by his foot and wrap some lights around him like he fell from the chimney and got stuck and starved. That would be so cool!"
    I love my young fans!

Discount youth, no matter how young they may be.
Before I got my house I was working for a household (repair work) with some young minds there who knew what my haunted house plans were.
The boy, maybe 12, proceeded to rattle off maybe 25 ideas in quick succession as to what should be happening inside my as yet unpurchased house.
Some ideas were highly fancifull, impossible for even a multi-millionaire to do..but he had ideas that I had not had before and they were very good ones!
The majority of the ideas I had already had go zipping through my brain, so he and I were on the same wavelength!
Hello, my name is "Jim", I look tall and old but..I'm only mentally 12, er, I guess?

Kids do have great ideas....I always put Santa and his 9 reindeer on my roof...next year, upon advice from my 14 yr old, we're putting up a "Reindeer Flight School" sign and crashing Santa and his reindeer into the big tree out front..

My neighbour on the left, got 2 boys, one 3 years old, the other 2. The 3 year old every time we were doing something for our haunt, he ran out the house and stared quietly with a huge smile, while we work on the props. When he was stuck inside, he sat in the main window and watched us work and wave to us when we saw him. Every night, he asked if he could see the haunt with his parents. I think we might have turned him into a future haunter! (L).

Kids - the Future of Haunting.

I've found that most adults are too constipated to get into Haunting. Too worried that they will appear foolish. I say, support and encourage kids every chance you get.
