The day before Christmas EveI went to a little outlet -mall flea market kind of place. I hadnt been in there since before Halloween ( I am banned at buying anything until at least spring... I found this heavy duty plaster white dock piling for $5 .( It weighs over 30lbs) For the pirate haunter I couldnt pass it up and I bought it even though it isnt spring. I am going to paint it to look more natural (wood tones etc) so it will look like a dock piling and put it with my haunt. I just wanted to let you guys know that flea markets are such a great place for unusual finds and CHEAP too!!!

I got a metal bronze/looking fancy cross like an antique grave marker, about 12 inches high by maybe 8 wide.
Perfect for my mausoleum walls where I needed to effect those slide out crypt drawers.
For humorous effect I left my purchase attached to it's own display cardboard that has the price on it. (I coated the cardboard with spray can laqueor? to allow it to resist the natural humidity of the outdoors.)
"Oh, how thoughtfull! You paid alot of money for Great grandpa's drawer decoration...and I see here that you spent a whole dollar on it!?""My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

Awesome find ELH! I have to say I have been banned several times but I dont think finds for 5 dollars count
I think that will look great in your pirate display cant wait to see what you do with it
Isnt it funny how when we find these great deals the first place we want to announce it is here
I love that I have you guys to share in my excitement because my friends over here would just look at me like i had three heads
Linus: You've heard about fury and a woman scorned?
Charlie Brown: Yes, I guess I have.
Linus: Well that is nothing compared to the fury of a woman who has been cheated out of tricks or treats!

What a great find. I do not know of any flea markets here. But I need to find if we do. Flee Markets, yard/garage sales can have some great stuff cheap for the haunt.
Eventhough I am Dead it is always warm inside my bed.

i LOVE finding things on the cheap and re purposing them!!
I cant look at anything without thinking how it might fit into a haunt. LOL
I picked up a few of these fur-real animatronic type animals. you touch them adn they move, make noise all sorts of things. I stripped the fur off one and i cant wait to fix that thing up.
I got them for 99 cents each at the second hand store.

Great find, ELH, and great price!!! We have a huge flea market here, but it consists mostly of cutesy crafts or stolen stuff from Rite Aid, i.e aspirin, etc. Never go there, well, unless I have a headache.
