We were in Walgreens last night to pick up a prescription and I was shocked to see store clerks stripping the shelves of Xmas lights already.
Walgreens had apparently been running a 50% off xmas lighting this week and even though it was only Friday night, they were already packing stuff up. Don't know if this is typical for other areas of the country, and other stores, but thought I should give anyone looking for good sales on Xmas items that could double-duty for halloween a heads up you may want to start looking NOW for those items before they are gone and be happy with the 50% off discounts. I've seen a couple of posts about clearance sales on Xmas here on HF; but with still a week or so to go pulling the merchandise off the shelves means no further discounts and no merchandise either.
I was in Home Goods this week, maybe on Tuesday, and they had a lot of thinned out shelves also. The store clerk told me they got hit had the previous weekend by shoppers for xmas merchandise. They were already putting out Valentines Day stuff on the shelves!!

^^^Hey!! You're never to old to play with dolls (props) & houses (haunted & otherwise ;] )
Yeah, buzzed into Meijer's today for some stuff, and they were starting to clearance & consolidate many sections of Xmas/holdiay items. Glad to know it's not just Halloween they're chasing off the shelves early.
Grabbed some light sensor timers for our display; will put them to use in next year's Halloween display too!Haunt to Live ... Live to Haunt

All the retailers must be sick of all the junk since they've been pushing it since August!

Biglots goes 50% off tomorrow (Sunday)..
I made out pretty good on Lowes the other day when they went 1/2 off...then I swung by Home Depot and Big lots and they don't really have anything in them and they're not even at 50% off yet. I just think everyone is carrying less inventory this year...
I thought it funny to see that Big Lots had consolidated all its Christmas and was putting out the spring stuff like Statues that were 75% off two months ago..

I would recomend getting the lemax type stuff at big lots when it goes 50% off. I'm planning on painting them for halloween.
Also the ornemants. If they still have the white or clear ones you could always paint pumpkin faces on them.

I have noticed that most of the major retailers had cut way back on the stock of lights and ornaments this year. Many places have nothing left in the way of lights but I think they carried only about a third of what was on the shelves last year.
