Is anyone here going to Transworld Halloween & Attraction Show in March 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri?

It seems you have to "jump through hoops" to get passes to get into it ... I am located in Los Angeles, CA and I have no problem paying to fly out there ... but what about actually getting in to the show ... is it worth going? Are there any deals offered there that you just can't get anywhere else?

    Your thoughts?

    Thanks

Technically, you have to be a business entity to get in to the show, but I've heard of people getting in that aren't. I'm a home haunter (for now), but I have a tax ID number so I can buy wholesale, and that, and a couple of invoices is all I need to get in. If you're not a business entity, you just need a letter from someone who is (haunt owner), or from an exhibitor.

If you've never been to Transworld, I highly recommend it. The show floor is amazing! All the vendors have all of their new products to show off, and there are usually show specials that you can only get by being there. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I'm there. I just wish I had a bigger budget.

I actually saw a link to the show on the Haunted house props, special effects, supplies and custom products for your haunted attraction. website. I had heard about the show ... but until recently, had no interest in going ... now i have major interest ... but not a lot of money to throw around ... which is why I was asking.

Maybe Ghost Ride will give me a "letter of recommendation" to go see their products at the show. Wouldn't hurt to ask I guess.

Good luck getting Ghost Ride to answer the phone, or reply to an e-mail. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired!

I went last year and will be going this year. I had bought from Fright Props and Skulltronix and both sent me invitations in my email. I used the Fright Props invite (they were the first to send one). You will love the show, I did!

Ghost Ride already emailed me back about the props I was interested in buying. Haven't hit them up yet for a pass.

    But I will.

For the people who are going ...what days are you going? Does anyone want to meet up and maybe tour the show together maybe ... might be able to get some good deals on purchases as a group. My wife and I are trying to figure out what would be the best days for us to go seeing we don't need to go for ALL the days it is open.

I'd love to go to this years but I have no idea as to where to get a pass. I don't buy from any of the major on-line markets.

This will be my fourth year going to Transworld. In years past, when it was in Chicago, I got there on Thursday night, so I could be on the show floor first thing Friday morning. The first couple of years I took some of the seminars they offer, and got tons of great information. Last year (in St. Louis), we drove down Friday morning, and came back Sunday. You can buy display props from the show floor, but most of the vendors won't let you take them until after the show ends on Sunday. Last year I bought a few thing that were shipped after the show, and all of them arrived in about a month EXCEPT Ghost Ride Productions, which literally didn't show up until August, and that was after several attempts to contact them saying WTF? Apparently, my order (cash sale) got mixed in with the credit card receipts. At least that's the story they gave me. I may buy from them again, but I will be staying until the end so I can bring home anything I buy.
This year we are going down on Saturday, hitting the show floor, and then the haunt tour. We'll be back on the show floor on Sunday, and then head home. I see that they are shutting it down at 2:00 on Sunday this year. Woohoo!!! Now I can be home by 7:00. I hope to see some of you there. I'm thinking about getting a "Dr. Dark" T-shirt made so you'll know who I am.
