Post-Halloween has been very hectic. Business travel and de-construction has been time consuming yet barely started.
Here is a link our 2009 haunt.
Halloween Forum - LT Scare's Album: Halloween 2009
The additions this year took so much time that we didn't get everything up and going that we had last year but the new stuff all worked great. Win some, loose some.
Here's a teaser - hope you like...

very cool haunt, LT!! loved the witch area, and th spider area, too creepy, like the idea every one looking at the bigger spider, while the next one has the scare factor! good job!!(what did you use to make the spider drop suddenly?)

I love all of your ghosts and the one coming through the upstairs window...well...I hope you don't mind his cousin doing the same at our haunt next year. That is such a cool idea.

Thanks Bethene, the dropping black widdow spider was a new prop this year at Spirit - I'm not certain if it was also available elsewhere.
As I mentioned, it came with a black cord that broke after a short period of use. I used 40 lb fishing line to replace the cord and it seems to be holding up well. It came with a "veil" of spiderweb lace fabric that dropped/extended with the spider. I think it looks better without that fabric.
You can probably find more of these on ebay - Spirit.com sold out long ago.
BTW, it does rise slowly after each drop, so the "reset" is slow.
The area you liked in the haunt uses a Scene Setter with a Spider web pattern that includes a UV sensitive print so it really pops behind the spider and the victim. Please check my 2011 Haunt album here on HF. http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...ween-2011.html

Thanks Kymmm. Depending upon the time of day we're probably 30 minutes South on the 5 from Dland (in light traffic). We're in Foothill Ranch above Lake Forest near the 241. PM me next year and we'll give you a tour when you come out. Same for any and all HF folks in the area.

"Mind" ... not at all. We started with a prop that as been sold the last couple of years added a hat, UV sensitive paint, and LED eyes. Truth be told, most of my stuff starts out from store props or inspired from HF posts that I modify and/or adapt to fit my haunt ... like this guy. Sharing ideas and inspiration is what HF is all about IMO.
The fire in the Coven, for example, was adapted from a "how to" of a person sitting in a wheel barrow with glowing coals piled on her. I made several changes, but basically this is that person's idea. None of the pics really do the affect justice IMO. It looks great in person. Please check my 2011 Haunt album here on HF. http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...ween-2011.html

Thanks Tera. I'm not sure what you mean about "peeking out from the gate." If you mean the vertical red eyes at the edge of the gate, that's just the angle of view. I added red LEDs to the columns of skulls at each side of the entrance to the haunt - and over the entrance too. The column patern for the stacked skulls is random, not just straight up and down. This makes the eyes placed into the skulls "look" out in somewhat random directions. One of the pics in the album shows a direct frontal view of the Haunt entrance that should help.
I shot some HD video this year too, but I have no idea when I'll get around to editing and posting the vid. We have days and days ahead of us dismantaling and storing the Haunt stuff. Some of this will go slower because we'll need to label the new lumber as we disassemble.
Oh yeah, my son already has a plan for next year that will add only a couple of 2x4s and turn the dungeon into more of a maze than it is now while providing a little more room for props. Hope we can finish ahead of schedule next year.
BTW, thanks for helping clear up the HF sig policy. Guess I misunderstood.
