Hi All.
This year I found that I could use a much easier source for making “fountain blood” for my bloody bird bath by using a tiny bit red “Pool Party” dye (Party Pool 8oz) -- versus food color – and it doesn’t stain like food color does. A $9.00 bottle does thousands of gallons (in your pool). I added a little bit of nondairy coffee creamer to make it a little cloudy.
Anyone else tried this stuff?

That's a cool looking prop, Doc.
I'm planning a blood fountain for my vampyre themed haunt next year.
I'm not sure if "Pool party dye" is available over here. (Not too many private outdoor swimming pools here in the UK).
I was planning on food colouring and red lighting to give the effect.
Thanks for the tip, though...I'll bear it in mind and see if there is an equivalent product available on this side of the pond.

I love that bird bath. So many of my neighbors would be upset. It's GREAT!
I like that a lot of the posts lately are about pools and water. It's something we sometimes overlook.

Nice bloody bird bath! I love it. We did a bloody shower scene one year, like in psycho, and we used RIT dye to get our water red. It is made for fabric and it is fairly inexpensive, less than $5 if I recall correctly, and I bought it at Wal Mart. Might be an option for those that are saying the pool dye isn't available in their area, but the pool dye does seem to make a brighter red. Also the RIT dye does dye everything red, clothes, hands, any prop that it touches, etc. but it makes for a nice effect.

Like Kimber53711 we usually do a bloody shower scene but unlike Kimber we have never put blood in the shower, or sink because every product we tried stained everything. (Kimber I admire your commitment to Halloween and your vision)
So this is a great suggestion and I can't wait to try it.
In fact, I think you could even put some in the tank of your toliet bowl... if you like your bloody bathrooms particularly bloody.Darkness has a hunger that's insatiable

Oh no, I didn't dye the tub in the house. I found an old one to use in our haunt for the purpose of a bloody shower scene. I lived at home then so my parents would have killed me! And now my fiance probably wouldn't like it to happen in our house either. BTW I love the idea about the toilet water.
