Hi all, I'm a new foorum member from Italy, and this year (mostly thanks to this very forum!) I was able to celebrate Halloween the way I always wanted (not as I planned, but I guess that not every party can work as planned...)
Here it is a slideshow of pictures I was able to get (next year I'll try to document everything, from the building stages to final party pics and videos.
This year was too chaotic
Well, without further ado, here it is the slideshow
Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket
I decided to go with a slightly "movie based" theme for the "look" of the tombstones, some gory food, and an easy scavenger hunt...
The hunt was a half-insuccess (but fun nonetheless) and the cheap and dirt fog chiller didn't work as planned, but it was fun to see smoke coming out of the mausoleum-shaped tombstone (the one in the background)
And for the first time ever we had Trick or Treaters (not hundres, but still some, a rarity here in Italy!)
Well, I'll try to post a short video of the night ASAP, I hope you like what you'll see here
Thank you all for your time and for the great inspiration!

Wow! Very nice! My first tombstones didn't look nearly that good. And your table looked great! What were the fingers made of? Really cool how you made your own cupcake display! Hats off!
Where did you get the foam for the tombstones? I"ve never been able to find that kind of foam in holland. I take it that you were the pirate? Nice costume

Wow, I really love the mausoleum for the fog machine. Very inventive. I want it.
And it looks like we were close on the egg eyes. I made deviled eggs and used olives as the pupils.
I want that mausoleum...

First of all, thank you very much MsM!
And for the answers...
The fingers were just half small wurstels with almond nails and ketchup for the blood
The cupcake stand isn't really finished (I need to "hide" the edges with another ribbon or something like that), and I did it for my GF (the purple witch), because she's a pastry chef and is a Halloween lover too, so...
The foam was purchased in a shop that sells stuff for construction sites (concrete, tiles, bricks and stuff like that), and it was sold like insulation foam (fairly big sheets, not huge, but good enough to make 3 tombstones with each sheet
) I don't know how it's called out there, but here it's called polystyrene (if I remember correctly!)
And yes, I was the pirate ^_^
Thank you again!
Glad you liked it!
If the fog machine worked a little better it would have been really cool, but it was fun anyway... I'll try to make it work properly next year!
And you can use that idea as you wish, afterall it was just a day of work (you gotta love last minute mausoleum to hide your fog machine!
)
Hehehe, yes the eggs were relly fun to do!
Thank you for your kind words!
