We also rent a storage garage just for our props, and it's packed to the rafters, but there's so much more I want to build. I usually build at least one new air prop every year, but they take up a lot of room, so I don't know what I'm going to do. Probably rent a bigger garage.

This year I will still be working on some props that I haven't been able to finish from last year. However, I'm seeing storage space a bigger issue each year. You can only pack so much stuff into a defined space. I have some props I picked up--some real cheap and some not--and plan on modifying them for next year's haunt theme. A skeleton is a skeleton is a skeleton. Just how you dress him up is the end goal. My husband likes to remind me--reduce, reuse, recycle.

Selling older props is a great fund raiser for your projects; donating some of them to a place like Goodwill, is another good way to put them into good use at someone else's haunt.

If you really enjoy prop making, I'd also suggest networking with local haunts if you have them (we have a few in our area that raise money for different charities and this year one of our high schools was raising money) and have fun doing it for a bigger cause. That way your work gets seen and enjoyed by a lot more people and you get the pleasure of knowing you built it.

I don't see me stoping either.my hubby built me a room just for props and prop building.I still have lots of room.I plan on making more zombies this year-some hands to hold candles-and hopefully a pirate ship which would have to be stored outside like my fence and mosuleum.
I do need to repair some props and get rid or fix my glueded together tombstones and replace them with 3 inch thick ones.I got brushes today and cut up some pvc so I am gearing up for the zombie frames and hands.
