Last year was our first year creating a large Halloween display and after the overwhelming amount of positive feedback from the neighborhood we decided to go through with another large display. Budget constraints kept us from getting too crazy but we expanded it to just about cover the entire front yard. A lot of lessons were learned this year but the most important lesson was to begin building farther ahead, several months out. Though I did a lot of planning, designing, re-designing and so forth, I ended up procrastinating for far too long. Many of the builds weren't actually started until the end of September and way to many things were still under construction the day before and the day of Halloween! I just cut it way too close and didn't even get to finish all the projects I had wanted to complete. So for those of you out there thinking of doing a large display next year ... remember, thoroughly designing your haunt/yard layout is extremely important but way to easy to get stuck in analysis/paralysis mode. Take action and early!
We made a ton of new things year and I would like to give thanks to the Halloween Forum members for making this possible. All of the discussions, pictures, and support that this community offers to even the newest of members is unreal. We couldn't have done it with out you all. I want to give a special thanks to DeadSpider from AranaMuerta for the Witch's Shack inspiration. Also, I'd like to thank TK421 for the great instructions on how to build his stocks. They turned out great and the entire neighborhood had a blast taking pictures of their ToT'ers in the stocks.
Enough jibbering already ... here are a some pictures of our small walkthrough front yard display that we have decided to call, "Ravensgallow Manor".
The full album can be viewed here at PhotoBucket.
Or for those that have severe carpal tunnel and can't do lot of clicking you can view the slideshow here. I tried to setup the album to show each section in both day and night conditions.
Thanks for looking and hoping everyone had a great Halloween this year!

Great job on your whole haunt. I love everything. I have to have some stockades for next year. Plus your witches jars rock.

The columns rock. I want to do drop panel columns next year, and yours will be my reference. Great picture quality, too.

Great job.
I liked the Witch's shack and potion bottles. It's a shame that you loose detail when things are in their true mood lighting but at least you know it's there. True Halloween fans will notice the details.
I also really like your columns with the Gargoyles. I need to make some columns for my next display. I better get busy, not much time left.
For being only the 2nd year of haunting I think it looks pretty amazing.Boo!

I'm still wishing a bunch of us lived all in the same neigborhood. We could throw one great party.
Your display looks great.
