I had to share this picture because I think it's one of my favorites. Last year for Halloween my daughter who was 8 at the time decided she wanted to be a burn victim. We were removing the burn and took a picture. The picture was great so we sent out a message to our families with a subject line of “debridement process for Lily, week 2.” They had no idea what her Halloween costume was, and they responded to our e-mail in horror and they still bring it up. I love this picture and this is why I love the woochie kits. Had to share.

No, she's not in pain. It was for the picture. And

It took over two hours to apply, (mainly because of the way we did her half-bald-cap) and it stunk like dogfood-mixed-with-Jell-O, but it was SO WORTH IT! She was gory. She looked like barbecued chicken. I just wanted to take a bite out of the side of her head.

What a trooper! Can't imagine an 8 year old sitting still for that amount of time.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before

She is a trooper blackfog. She sat on the porch with a bunch of dolls. Some with their hair burned off and even a oopsie daisy that had her batteries dying so she sounded scary. Kids wouldn't even come up on the porch. It was great.

How did the half bald cap work? How did you keep it in place?

It actually worked well. We went to the swim store and bought a skin tone colored swim cap. Nothing special. It was an adult size, and it stayed on the whole night and we didn't have much problems. She just wore it like a hat.

We just poked holes all around and then pulled her hair through the holes on the one side and then left one side of the head bald.

It looked red and gooey all night long, so it was great. Plus, she sat on our front porch and sacred people. It was great.
