I am already working on some of my first pneumatic props. Just need more hose and a bigger air compressor.

I am working on a plan to do a 1 to 3 minute skit in the garage. Probably involving a laboratory where something bad goes wrong and a monster comes out. Currently looking into what technology I can use to do this, then build from there. I have a 1000 w fogger on the way and thinking I will trigger it at some point. This will feed through PVC pipe and hit key areas in the garage. Then I just need to figure out lighting and special sounds.

I am reinventing myself as a haunter next year. I used to switch themes every year as you can see in my gallery. I have a partner now and we are exploring the transition to commercial haunting within the next 3 years. As such we are looking into a more permanent (but flexible) theme.
Overall, it is very exciting and I can not wait to see what we come up with in the next 90 days.Check out the Pirate and Tiki theme albums

The thread is titled wrong....it should be 10/30/2010 since there is no way trick or treating will be celebrated on a Sunday in Utah.
Anyway, I don't know what the big thing is yet for 2010. Last year I built a nice cemetery fence and pillars, this year I made my funeral carriage. I will improve on both of those projects, but I'm trying to figure out what my next big addition will be. The big debate again will be whether or not to incorporate the backyard....I haven't before, but think I could get the neighbors involved in "haunting it up" a bit....maybe even having a food drive walkthru the week before so that more of my fellow haunters have a chance to see it. Often we haunters are so busy the last week, that we don't get to see the work of our peers

Scatterbrains, I here ya. I was born in Provo and lived in Orem most of my life.
I'm stuck between what I want to do next year, and not getting too creepy. I let my own children be the judge of the scare level at our haunt, and it has worked well. Only one ToT this year that was trepidatious to enter the garage, but soon he was happily popping the fog filled bubbles floating around our Witches Kitchen.
But I WANT to make the big kids scream!

Mom is letting me plan our 2010 haunt and so far everyone that hopes to be involved loves it.
I'm taking Wonderland down a few pegs from 'creepy but fun' to 'creepy and I think I might have nightmares'.
Mange Riddled White Rabbit, Mentally Damaged Psycho Hatter, Addicted to Indulgence and Lost in an Opium Haze Caterpillar, Blood Thirsty, Flamingo Axe Wielding Queen of Hearts, and a Creepy, Sharp Toothed Cheshire Cat handing out candy. We will also try to get versions of the Tweedles, the Cards and some other characters as filler in some areas.
Alice may or may not be involved which is why I am calling it Wonderland and not Alice in Wonderland. If she is a character in our haunt, she will be a run around character that will check on possible problems, maybe lead little kids through (as a 'tone it down' warning to our actors) and to generally keep an eye on things.
The whole set design is still being worked out as Mom and I have different ideas of what is possible in our time frame and skill level. I started out with a fairly grand design but now I'm trying to scale it back into something workable. Mom is still running on grand design mode.
Hopefully things can work out and we won't be crunched for time and stalling ToT's this coming year.
When I have some better refined and finalized drawings of how I want it to look I'll post them up to give a better idea of what the plan is.
...somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.
