This Halloween was funny because my daughter (9 years old) made it through about 10 houses before she had to turn back around and go home because she wanted to scare people. I love that she has the spirit.
Do your children haunt with you and have you ever put them in really scary costumes to be part of your haunt. <post pictures if you have some>
I still have problems taking the kids trick-or-treating because I want to scare people at our house. Being torn between two fun things on Halloween. At least this year I didin't have to ask if we could go home, yet.

My answer - a resounding YES. My ten-year old daughter, Valerie, and my older kids, Eli and Vanessa, 30 and 29 respectively, all took major roles in this years' haunt. Eli came in from Seattle. This was the first time since 1992 that the older kids were involved. It was just like old times.

Yep my 10 year old son played dead in my graveyard and frightened the life out of some poor woman when he emerged from the fog crawling fast on his belly lol
My 11 year old son was dressed as a reaper and stood in the dark pathway between my house and garage, he was very still so people didn't see him and did a great job getting people to scream
lastly my 13 yr old was dressed in a ghillie suit and hid in the front garden bushes frightening the TOT's as they left.
I'm so proud of my 3 little scare actors

My daughter, 19 y.o. decided she wanted in on the action this year. So we built a fortune teller booth and she sat on the front porch. She played the part awesome. She already wants to know what we're doing for next year.
Here she is, and that's me behind her.
You know you have a successful haunt when the ADULT visitors pee their pants.

I love the pictures. My daughter was a vampire this year and she was crawling around on the ground with all the fog. It was great.

We don't have any kids yet so all I can do is hope that they love Halloween as much as I do. My soon to be husband has finally come around to enjoy it after 6 years of dating and 5 years of our haunt on Halloween. He really got involved with the prop building and scaring this past year, in the past he has been more build the walls and hang out behind the scenes. He is already talking what we need to do before next year. And my little brother (18) and some of my younger cousins (17-20) have been actors with me over the years. They enjoy it as much as I do.

My kids couldn't wait to start scaring –

Last year my then 9 year old son dressed up as a ghoul inside my pirate jail and scared people who came up to the bars to look inside.
I also had him stand straight up and I carried him out into the driveway in front of some people who were milling about. He stood perfectly still until someone came near him thinking he was just another prop. He got a few scares that way. I did the same with my 6 year old daughter, sitting her up on top of a hay bale.
This year my son hid behind the gate with a mask and play chain saw. He would bang on the gate to attract attention and then jump up with the chainsaw.
My daughter would be walking around the driveway amongst the visitors. I would come out in costume, find her and carry her away screaming around the corner (we live in a corner house). I would then come back around without her yelling "Who's next?". I heard a couple of "Look outs" and "What happened to that little girl?".
They are already thinking about what they can do next year.
Last Year:

This year, my daughter the zombie soccer player and my son the headless horsemen with 2 of their friends who helped scare as well:
