Hi everybody. Here's the rub---
When I lived in N.C. (Asheville) we stumbled upon this neighborhood that was decked out. It was something from a movie. Every house was decorated, the streets were filled with kids and parents alike and there was even a live band. It was insane, and absolutely fantastic.
Do you live in an area that does the "block party halloween?
If so, how was it organized?

I'm lucky enough to live in a little dead-end with 3 of the 10 houses that are decorated for Halloween. The funny thing is all three houses are across from each other then nuthin'.

I wish I had neighbours who would as a group go all out and celebrate the holiday together, that sounds amazing!!
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.

We only had about 2 or 3 other houses decorate down the entire street this year. My neighbor did say her husband said "maybe we can do something next year" after he saw our yard. I hope I'm the one that keeps em all motivated but a whole block decked out would be a blast!
It's Halloween, what more do you need to know.

Been thinking of a move to the Ashville area for a couple of years now.
What was the area? That is one beautiful part of the country,
Kind of sad here on my street, at least in my area. Maybe one out of 12 houses even had something as small as a window ornament. There were a lot of porch lights off on Halloween.. which means a lot of folks did not want kids. Very odd I thought.

We are the only house that really decorates in our hood but we also are the hub of neighborhood activity on that night.
My backyard bar kept quite a few parents as the kids continued.
A block party does sound like a way to take it to the next level. Hmmm.

It is in the Kenilworth Road neighborhood off of Hendersonville Road. It was surreal and every Halloween I think of it. Island Crypt Keeper says it was like Trick-or-Treating on a sitcom. It was probably one of the best Halloween’s I’ve ever experienced.
We all need to move to one neighborhood and have our own haunt party.

That little area was the bees knees! It was seriously like stepping onto a movie set. It was the coolest Halloween ever! (Except our house of course!) We have one neighbor that kinda gets into it and most of the people in the neighborhood at least put up a couple of decorations and give out candy, but that couple of blocks was like nothing I'd seen before, or since. There was one house that was projecting monster movies on the wall outside, a live band out in front of another, one house had a creepy tree (of monster mud?) on the front porch, tons of pumpkins, it was great! Trick or treaters were flocking to the area, so I don't think it was the first time they did it. I still want to build a tree like the one house had, it was SWEET, up on the porch, the candy would fall down into the tree's mouth and the kiddies would have to reach in and grab it.

We'll take the bull by the horns next year and send out the invites to the other houses and see who shows up =)

I remember things like that as a kid. We have the perfect street for that, 70 houses and it's a big loop. A few of us keep meaning to do that but we just haven't been able to get it together. Might try next year as about 1/4 of the houses were all decked out. They started feeling the pressure from us. Ha!
