I don't know if this is any help, but I know I got to where I had "self inflicted" pressure to make it better and better. That will burn you out quickly. So, as everyone else said - scale it down this year. And most of all pick decorations to appeal to YOU the most. Sometimes just doing a small part of a theme can be really rewarding.
For example: You can pick something simple like make a Bat Cave - cover your garage door in black plastic, hang a bunch of bats from trees, and to the garage frame, strew around a bunch of leaves, put out some colored spots and maybe a fogger and a screeching recording.
Just focus on one thing, do it well and see how far you can go with just that. That gives you the outlet for your creativity without you having to do a really major production.
Halloween for many of us is the creativity...don't let that get burnt out!
