Hi All,
Wanted to give a warm Texas "Thank You" to all the forum members who have been posting since September, which was when I joined up here. I never knew that a fun, helpful, creative, and caring Halloween forum ever existed till I decided to google it about 6 weeks ago. I truly have learned so much, and have seen so much. It has been "experiential" ... in the most complimentary manner possible! I am sure other new members and visitors feel the same... but I wanted to make sure that someone stood up to share the gratitude.
What I directly learned for this year was how to make a cool PVC static prop, and some lighting ideas. I did not have time for other stuff to build this year... but watch out for 2010!
My girlfriend does not like the "scary" side so much... but I will be working on her.. and I have almost a full year to do so! This year we were a knight and a princess. We had fun handing out the candy to the TOT's, and had 140 come through. We counted the lollipops to know the amount. The kids had a blast... and the young girls really enjoyed Amanda's outfit.
I will still be visiting regularly here.. but wanted to give an official THANK YOU to everyone!
Below are a few pics.
Be safe!
~Smiter~
1)Our Fun Lit Front Window and Driveway
2)The Knight King and Princess
3)My PVC prop (which I learned how to make here!!) with a $6 graduation gown from goodwill, $6in PVC stuff, and an old mask.
I stuffed the head with a thin plastic paint tarp and used two flicker LED tea lights for eyes. It freaked out the kids!

I am glad you guys found this place, I agree, so many helpful, nice people here, I have learned so much from all of them! Love your costumes! and your first pvc prop looks good, love the idea of the tea lights behind the eyes, looks eerie!
Make sure you stick around all year, alot of us die hards are here all year,(not that mine is big, I just love it and am obsessed!) there is the prop building group that after the first of the year kicks in gear, where they work on a prop with a tutorial from some one who takes you step by step, at times, contests, land lots of great ideas all year around!
