Thread: our halloween dinner

Every year my partner and I invite friends and family over for a Halloween potluck. Here are a few pictures from this year’s dinner.

My friend Scott decided to come as Myrrleene, the Walmart greeter. He was going to welcome everyone at the door and check their bags as they came in. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do, and then it hit me at work one night. A friend of a friend works for Baker Furniture and had given me a box full of upholstery remnants. I decided to make a gown and matching hat out of the remnants. The hat even had a Baker Furniture price tag attached to it, Minnie Pearl style. I then printed out leaflets inviting everyone to view the new fall clothing line from Baker Furniture, available exclusively at walmart.com and gave them to Scott to pass out as he greeted everyone. Needless to say, we had a good time. Given that Baker Furniture builds high end products and some of the fabrics can run several hundred dollars a yard, my outfit was probably worth $1000 or more. LOL

Our friend Tina recently broke her foot and has to wear a walking cast. She decided to take advantage of the situation and come as a party crasher. Accident, cast, party crasher. Get it?

Another friend of ours came as Billy Mays, the Oxyclean guy. He said it took him three washings to get the black dye out of his hair. LOL

We didn’t have any trick-or-treaters this year (it rained all night), but a good time was still had by all.
