Some fogger will tell you how to clean them. If not just get some fog cleaner. Haunted Fog carries them. Dump out the fog juice and run some cleaner in it. Leave some cleaner in it to keep it wet. Do not leave where it may freeze. That may have been my problem. This year I'm storing it in a closet, along with my severed legs. LOL No really!

One fog machine I owned called for it to be cleaned with a water/vinegar solution. I can't remember how much of each. Try the VEI web site. The older units use to list how to clean them.

I just dump out my extra solution, rinse with tap water. Fill 1/2 full of tap water, run fogger for a while. Dump out extra tap water. Put away with top off to dry out.

Fogger is nearly 10 years old and still running fine.

Simple and cheap and still working.

I don't have an answer for the best way to clean a machine, but I'd like to add this: I have never cleaned my fog machines, and I just make certain to keep some fog juice in them when I store them away.

I keep mine in my garage (buried in a cabinet).

I had one year where I had a little trouble with one of the pumps on one of my machines - took it apart, pulled out a little dried up glycerin, put it back together and it's worked fine since (this was about 3 years ago, and the only time I've "cleaned" any of my fog machines).
Upon reflection, I think this was the year I tried storing them "dry" (no fog juice), as I worried about mold build up (had read where someone's fog juice had molded on them).
I've stored them with juice in them since, and have had no problems.
Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...

2009 photos and 2008 photos ...uhmmm...and what I have evolving...
