The weather was not that great. Warm, but on and off rain all day. This coupled with the fact that I was hungover from a Halloween party Friday night made me decide not to decorate the yard. I just hung one scary witch near the door. I wasn't expecting to have that great of a Halloween.

But then the Halloween magic kicked in. The ToT's were out in force and the rain held out for most of the night. ToT's started with the little children at about 5:30. The streets were PACKED with kids by 7pm. We had ToT's all night up until literally 9pm, which is the latest I have ever seen them come. Lot's of smiling faces, lots of great costumes. Everyone was very respectful. I think the final number was a bit over 200 ToT's which was a record year (we usually average 150ish).

My girlfriend and I had a few drinks between working the side door. At around 7:30, I opened my front door just to take it all in. It was amazing, the streets were buzzing with excitement. You literally could not drive a car down the street, just crowds of children. One of my neighbors had some scary sounds blasting, which got the ToT's all excited, the wind was howling, colored leaves covered everything... it was just a very spooky scene.

We lit our jack-o'-laterns and put them on the front steps to ward off evil spirits They looked great. We had some friends over to help us celebrate. Played scary movies in the background. The inside was all decorated. Served Halloween goodies and did shots with the neighbors, toasting Halloween.

Our friends left at 1:30 am and my girlfriend went to bed. I cuddled up on the couch and put on the TV hoping to catch a late night spooky movie. I found The Amityville Horror which had just started. SCORE !! I watched it until about 3 am then checked the jack-o'-laterns and they were still burning bright. Went to bed with great memories of what turned out to be a teriffic Halloween !!
