As I did my post Halloween shopping today, all the stores already had all there Christmas stuff out. Target had all the Christmas ceiling decorations up, and the Halloween leftovers were all jammed into two isles and the big opening for seasonol things was being stocked full of Christmas things. Cracker Barrel was in full Christmas mode. Home Depot hasn't had any Halloween stuff, they've had just Christmas since the beginning of October. And the Christmas commercials started coming on last week, before Halloween was even over. I know this happens every year, but does it annoy anyone else on how Halloween stuff gets pushed aside, but the Christmas stuff is everywhere you look, even starting in September?

So I see that I'm not the only one who don't like to feel the Christmas time so early...

Target had their Christmas stuff out about 3 weeks ago. I stopped by last Wednesday, and they had compressed what was 8 aisles of Halloween down to 2. The rest was taken up by Christmas. Places like Hobby Lobby and Michaels - I understand. If you're a crafter, Christmas stuff takes a while to make.
They're retailers. They have to bet on where the money goes. In a tight economy, most people (MOST) will spend money on Christmas decor for the family rather than Halloween decor that's really only for one night. Why book up your store with stuff that won't sell when you can get the jump early with stuff that will?
I don't LIKE what they're doing, but I can see why they do it.

I couldnt agree more. The guy at Home Depot asked me if I needed help the other day so I asked where the Halloween section was as we were standing beside the Christmas stuuf. He says we are skipping it this year so I told him I guess I will go to Lowes then and walked out. My wife told me I was an @$$ hole and then I just laughed. Then yesterday we were trying to find a couple little last minute things and when we walked into Walmart the Halloween section was gone and it was full of Christmas things. I just dont understand it. We get the shelves for 2 weeks and they get 2 months.

Same situation where I am, too. Wal-Mart, Lowes, Walgreens, and all the other usual places are already in full-on Christmas mode. Heck, Lowes had a full Christmas set-up around October *14*! It's sad...

Same here, everyone. They started getting rid of the Halloween stuff & replacing it with Christmas several weeks ago. That's just not natural, people.
Fortunately, I have a Hallmark shop right down the street from me that's unlike any Hallmark shop I've ever been in. Halloween is the owners favorite holiday & trust me, it shows. They start getting ready for Halloween in late August & don't stop until October 31. They build their own displays, sell autumn type foods like pumpkin bread & cookies & do everything they can to make Halloween come alive. This year, they closed down on November 1 to tear down all the Halloween displays & put up the Christmas stuff. You have to admire & respect that type of devotion.
