Along with 3 other towns - one, Lakeland, is 15 minutes away.
City Ties for Again Being Nation's Hottest | theledger.com | The Ledger | Lakeland, FL
I think everyone I came in contact with (along with myself) was completely drenched in sweat even hours past sunset.Lakeland and three other cities tied for the hottest weather in the nation Saturday.
Lakeland, Plant City, Waycross, Ga., and Indio, Calif., all reached a high of 90 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
Lakeland also tied its previous record high for Oct. 31 set in 1994.
It wasn't the first time last week that Lakeland's temperatures came out on top. On Oct. 29, Lakeland reached 95 degrees, making it the hottest place in the nation.
Unreal. I am so sick of the heat! I also can't wait until mid-January when we will end up getting our first crisp fall evenings!
I ran a photography area at a Halloween evening church event. These poor kids that were wearing long-sleeves and pants! It was just awful weather. Most of the candy anyone had was melted lol. Sweat-laden tots were shedding costume material left and right - I think an hour into our event half the kids were down to their underclothes - masks were almost non-existent. Definitely one of the most uncomfortable nights to dress up. Besides a 5 minute sprinkle, though, we had a clear night thank goodness - rain would have just crushed any hopes of being outside!
