Have all my life size props out for the big day, and its been almost 3 hrs, and my witch fell at least 3 times because of the wind & her head has broken off!! God that makes me so p****, 250$ down the drain

& to top that off, Jason Vorhees fell once and the hand with the sword cracked off!! I;m officially done with Gemmy props & life size props all together. Thanks mother nature!! This might be my last yr I'm thinking, waste of time money and effort
Sorry, had to vent.. feel free to vent too if you are p**** at the weather right now

My 2005 Model of An Animated Grim Reaper from Gemmy will have to be Retired this year. He tipped over and the whole top part cracked off. Its a clean break on the plastic, and MIGHT be able to be fixed with Duct Tape (which fixes everything) but I think its to far gone to fix. Sadly, he fell last year and his head stopped working so theres no much left to him

Wind and then rain did a few of mine in and prevented me from putting most of them out.

I feel for you. Sorry to hear this. But those props are not outdoor props, after all. It's not gemmies fault- it's yours.

Hold on while a duck a punch...ya missed me!

I chose to keep in my prized animatronic prop over losing it to wind- a sure fate of putting it out. I reasoned it was better to hold it back and be bummed than being bummed about losing the prop...and the money. My plan B was to show it in the front picture window instead. It got displayed, only safely. And it was only a 40 dollar prop, compared to your very expensive props. But when you love a prop, you gotta give in to it's best interest if you're gonna have it around next year. 9pm on the dot it started raining here, but I was tracking the weather on line and knew when it was gonna hit. I got the props that needed to come in to save them. That's the only way.

When it comes to props or TOTS, props have to come first. And the more expensive they are, the more consideration they need.

With all that wisdom spewed forth, I am REALLY sorry for you though. For all of us really- the faithful who battled the weather and lost. I count myself amoung you, although my losses were not that severe.

    Dan
