I know Halloween 2009 isn't even over yet, but I was wondering if anyone was already thinking about next year. There so many things I have on my wish list for next year that I was curious if anyone else was already thinking that far ahead....

Yeah my plans are starting on 2011. We only do the big Halloween party every other year. It used to be an annual event but it was to much for my poor wife. I also find it easier to create new things if I have 2 years to think about it.
On off years we just have a Halloween Pizza party. I cook up some home made pies and we all have some drinks. It's not the decorations but the company of good friends and family that make the holiday special for me.Boo!

I've looked ahead to next year, but am seriously consdiering scaling back a bit. This may be the string of bad weather talking but it's taken a toll on me this year like no other. I can still put on a nice haunt but eliminate a scene/area and save myself a lot of work. We'll see. I do have some upgrades planned, including more animation.

As of 30 minutes ago there is. We had our sneak preview tonight and it went well. Except it was so darn cold out that getting people to stay around was tough. We ended up hudeling around the red flood in the garage to keep warm.
So we decided that since we proved the trail and garage haunt was a sucess, that next year we will focus more effort on providing an actual party inside. Let people stroll around the haunt at their leasure and come in side to drink beer.

I couldn't finish most of my props I wanted done this year, so they are going to be completed at Christmas time to get ready for next year. I think I'm gonna go with a haunted bog type theme.

YES. This year was "A Night in the Graveyard," so next year I'm going to have the graves all in one area and have the main area be "Skeletons and Ghouls". I will see how many skeletons I can afford throughout the next 11 months, LOL. I want to have them climbing the walls of my house, in the trees, etc.

After years of throwing our party at a friend's house we are going to move our party back to our house.
So we got to finish final home improvement projects in addition to buiding and buying props.Darkness has a hunger that's insatiable

I notice next year is on a Sunday. We thought we were done with Halloween parties for a couple years since it wouldn't be on a weekend, but looks like we get one more year (on Saturday)!
