Not that long ago I posted a thread asking people's opinion about what age could a kid watch the movie Halloween. Here.....
At what age can a kid watch the orginal "Halloween"
Well yesterday it was like the stars aligned for it to happen... let me explain.
While his mother had to do a work thing, I got to hang out with my future step son. Now it just so happens that Halloween was playing on AMC that same night at 5 o'clock. So while he and I set up part of the Yard Haunt and then went to get something to eat, I DVRed the movie and at about 6:30 we sat down to watch the classic film.
It was perfect because it was edited for TV so any sexual stuff was taken out and any bad language. And since it was on DVR I could fast forward through the comercials.
I'm tellin' you guys it was like watching the movie for the first time myself as I watched HIS reactions to everything. The look on his face when he would see Michael Myers in the background stalking people and when he got Annie in the car was priceless. And he nearly jumped out of his skin when Michael jumped out of the closet and killed Bob.
At one point I got up to go to get a cup of coffee and he followed me in there... when I asked if he was "okay" he said "yeah I just wanted see what you were doing". Translation..... get your a$$ in here because there is no way I can watch this movie by myself.
At the end when I asked him if he liked the movie he said.... "Yeah, it was freakin' scary". LOL.![]()

That seems to have worked out perfectly! I hope he enjoyed it and doesn't have nightmares.
I don't watch those movies just for that reason. *puts on chicken suit*

His mother told me today that no nightmares were had last night... so far so good.
One thing I thought was interesting was that he was very curious as to why Michael Myers was after Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) specifically.... of course in part 2 they reveal that is his sister and it was all I could do to not tell him. I'm really hoping some TV channel shows part 2 soon so maybe I can DVR that and we can watch it.
He has also mentioned that he would like to watch the remake (probably because I have mentioned in front of him that there is "no way" he should) but there is no way he's ready for that one yet. Way to much foul language, sex and gore.
