And it appears I am the only house here that really decorates. A few houses have a couple of pumpkins and scarecrows out, one house has 2 inflatables. It's really sad that people are not really doing much to celebrate this most awesome of awesome holidays. I wish I lived in an area where everyone was really into it and we could have the whole block all decorated. *sigh*

I've seen one or two "dressed up" houses in my neighborhood but other than that, nothing. But here, people tend to decorate VERY late. In fact, last year when my kids and I were out TOTing, there were people putting up decorations as we walked to the door. The majority, though, seem to put stuff up a couple of days before H'ween and although it isn't usually much, three or four homes that we pass while TOTing do go crazy with lights, sound, fog, etc...I ALWAYS, ALWAYS compliment the people at the door for their great decorations.

It's okay. Keep doing it; show everyone how fun it is...make them wonder, "Hey, IS it okay to just break out and have fun like that?" and maybe they'll end up being haunters too...

Saw a few houses in our neighborhood that had some ghoulies and ghosts and such. It is nice to see.

not much here either. I have driven around a few neighborhoods in my general area and very little. Certainly nothing to the extent that I have.

To be fair, for most people Halloween is a pumpkin or two. A scarecrow and a hanging skeleton and a couple of tombstones is going all out hardcore to most people.

Look at movies, greeting cards, commercials on tv, etc. When you see a house at Halloween in the those types of media, you see jack o'lanterns.
The same houses in the same media have lights, wreaths and trees for Christmas, lots more stuff.

It's the norm. I'm happy to see a lone pumpkin awaiting a face, or a hanging ghost, even one of those ridiculous inflatables. It took money and time to put these items up - the household made a choice to decorate for Halloween.
    It's a good thing, gang.

I'm out everyday because of my job and haven't seen anything aside from a few things here and there. I do think maybe people are holding off waiting for that big display to be put up. Then again it's next Sat. so forget that. Perhaps vandels, I don't put anything out until Halloween so people are probably wondering if I'm "game" this year. Maybe people get a little discouraged because they think they are going all but some setups around the area blows theirs out of the water and it seems fruitless. I'm just happy to see some effort.

also some little pieces of excrement last night decided to spray paint peoples cars, makes me worried for my outside props, and my cars I can't put them in the garage because it's full of props too.

I'm the biggest, best house in my entire area and that's sad because I don't have a lot (yet). I think something is better than nothing though so some snot rag ghosts and a pumpkin at a neighbors makes me feel better.

I'm in the same boat. Hardly anyone in a mile radius decorates besides a couple pumpkins. The biggest I've seen is two inflatibles and a big BOO sign they made. I know the house down the block puts out a coffin but, I've never seen it. Too busy with my own display.

It's hard to believe that this is one of the biggest selling holidays for the stores when there isn't much to show for it. Guess it's just the price of candy going up. lol
