    Hallow Forum Fiends!

Indulge me if you will -- I just have to rave!

Well, we did it!! At the kind invitation of HF member Bozz and his family, we (MysterE and I) hopped in our car tonight and drove an hour north to enjoy Bozz's Backyard Bog - his cool haunted trail! And what an experience!! It is soooo wonderful to finally get to ATTEND someone else's haunt and experience the scares and fun we dream of! Especially when, year after year, we spend sooo much time planning our own haunt parties that we never really get to relax and just be a "guest."

Bozz has enlisted several actors - including his talented son - to wait patiently throughout the trail and listen for unsuspecting guests to make their way through the woods of a what is a truly creepy forested area behind their beautiful home.

There are scares galore along the way - even before your feet hit the trail. After walking though the cool haunted house on the driveway, you are greated by his avatar/signature pirate and a hidden lawn blower that is suspended from the ceiling to deliver a big burst of air and sound as you make your way out to the backyard. It is anchored up in the opening of the garage attic door. When I walked under the flags - I got pummeled with a blast of wind that set the mood for the trail to come! Genius!

Bozz has several props hooked up to get lively with motion and sound - and he even has a few real fish (stuffed with sharp teeth intact - eek!) lurking at eye level inside a tunnel arch that leads down the trail. You can't get out of the arch without a snake attack as you exit. Further down the trail - and deeper into the woods - are several spooky spots - but the thing that really makes your adrenalin rush are the actors waiting to jump out and say BOO! They got me good!
And since this was a practice night in prep for the Big 10/31 - we were privileged to see some of the behind-the-scenes efforts that go into making a trail haunt so fun. We even got to see some of Bozz's great prop finds from Spirit. He really scored with the Bat Bar!
We felt truly fortunate to live near another HF member haunt and after tonight, we are even more convinced that Halloween Forum is the #1 place to hobnob with our fellow Halloween wizards.

Bozz and his family really know how to keep the Halloween Spirit alive and kickin'. It was just the break we needed - and really pumped us up to get our own haunt in gear before (yikes) next weekend!

Thanks Bozz - and thanks too to Halloween Forum for making it all possible. We had a truly special night tonight - thanks to Bozz and his great family. Happy Haunting next week and beyond ~
