So I just checked Accuweather.com and the weather tomorrow (Friday) is supposed to be really bad - lots of rain and some wind. The rain is supposed to continue into Saturday, the day of our party. We were planning on moving our portable bar to our deck and now will need to setup a canopy there. Do you think I should wait until Saturday to set it all up or do it tonight - it's nice and sunny today. I was just worried about the canopy and wind - I suppose I can tie it down somehow?

oooh. Tough call. I personally would wait to see just HOW bad it is the day of the party, and work on everything I could on the inside to get as much done as possible.
Sorry the weather isn't cooperating for your area.
We just got a big push of rain yesterday and today, but it's clearing out now, and supposed to be beautiful for this weekend - and our party. I was really sweating it early this week, because we use our back porch and deck area and it's partially uncovered.

Was bad for my party as well. Was planning on opening the deck up so people could space out a little more. But, of course, it was pouring. And freezing. Worked out fine inside though. Oh well!

Our party was last Saturday and a huge success, despite the torrential weather. We put a canopy on the deck in addition to getting a 10'x25' plastic drop sheet from Home Depot. We placed the drop sheet on top of the canopy and extended the sides past the deck and tethered the ends down as you would do with a tent. Worked like a charm and not a drop went through. Once in a while though, we would have to watch for any spots where water was accumulating and lift those areas of the plastic sheet to let the water run down. Other than that, it worked out great. We were able to setup our voodoo bar with red lanterns, red chili lights and grass skirt. Lots of people hung out on the deck while it poured and no one got wet. I was so happy it worked out okay.

Glad to hear that everything worked out! Our party is this coming Sat. and the weather is not coorperating here. They're only calling for showers here and there...so who knows what it will really do.
I'm debating putting a rain date on it for Sunday. Most of our party is outside on our deck and patio, which isn't covered. The inside of our house is SO tiny, I don't know how we'd all fit inside if it gets bad. UGH! The yard looks amazing too!

I'm here in Pa to and I am not so much worried about the party cause it is inside but my outside decorations are not waterproof. All my props and tombstones and circle of ghosts and my fog machine will not be able to be outside! I am getting so bummed cause I always worry about that for Halloween. I keep telling myself remember it is Accuweather, but now multiple weather forcasters are chiming in......not good.

Personally, I love bad weather on Halloween. Makes it more eerie and a bit scary!!
