OK so I have to say being a Phillies fan I am VERY excited that last night we won & became NL Champs for the 2nd year and were once again going to the World Series...however game 3 which is the 1st game at home in Philadelphia is going to be on Halloween night!!!!!(And we live about 15-20 minutes outside Philadelphia so were in the heart of fan area to say the least) AAHHHH! Last year when we won the World Series the city parade was on Halloween and we had a lighter tun out of kids being they all went to the parade and many got stuck down there well into the evening because it was a mob seen....so now this year I'm afraid that were gonna have a light turn out again and I don't know what to do with our yard haunt??? We have alot of time & money invested as you all of you that do haunts know.....I don't want to waste our time or more effort by going all out and have a crappy turn-out. Last year was slightly dissapointing as it was...I don't know what to do now????? It's bitter-sweet to say the least...Way to Go PHIL'S but Bad for Us....Humm Any suggestions? The game is schedualed for 8...so we still might get some TOT's early after dinner..AAAHHHH!! I absolutley want a repeat for the Phillies but, not for us of last year....

Well last year it was a whole parade celebrating the WS that was making your turnout a little lite and this year it's just Game 3. So I imagine that the game might effect your turnout some, I bet it won't be as much as the parade did last year.

But I'm kinda in the same boat in Oklahoma. Two big in state college football games on Halloween this year and I'm wondering if it will negatively effect the turnout for Halloween. I'm actually missing a home football game at my Alma Mater for the first time in 8 years for Halloween so I hope I'm not disappointed.

Maybe it won't be as lame as last year I don't know though...it's a Saturday and these Philly Phans are all nuts!!! LOL They will be down the city/stadium all day waiting for this game...well I guess maybe I will have an early turn-out and a short night, who knows?....BLAH

I had a feeling that others living in the Philly area would be in the same boat as me! I had the same problem last year, but for me it's that the guests at my small (less than 20 people) party show up, but would prefer to sit in front of the TV and watch baseball than enjoy a sit-down meal that took me months to plan. Personally, I think it's incredibly rude and it really upset me last year and, go figure, here we go again.

Last year I actually had someone ask if they could bring along their small flatscreen so we could put it in my dining room so they could watch while we eat. I told them that if they wanted to watch the game, they could go in the living room and watch it while everyone else ate dinner since it's a HALLOWEEN party, not a world series party. Am I being unresonable or does that seem a bit much? It's just very frustrating.

My husband told me to get over it and our friends are never going to change so I guess I'll just have an extra drink or two that night and try not to let it get to me.

    Thanks for letting me vent.

Arrrgh, I feel your pain guys. I'm a big sports fan too. Too bad none of the professional teams in Northern California are any good, so I don't have your dilemma. Maybe you should TIVO it?
