We have a carport (one of those things covered with tarps) on the side of our house that we would like to decorate for our Halloween party. Basically we want people to be able to enter this to go into the backyard. We were going to find black plastic sheeting to cover it with but cannot find anyone in town that has not sold out of black plastic or landscaping material and am running low on budget. The carport already has white walls and roof. I was thinking maybe a spiders lair? Does anyone have any ideas/photos on what to do with a completely white carport.

Maybe some sort of "Big Top Evil Circus" theme with a bunch of demented, scary clowns?

Go to your local thrift stores (goodwill/salvation army) and find white sheets. Hang sheets, shred them at the bottoms and spatter them randomly with red paint (do this somewhere that it is safe to splatter). You could even make a bloody maze out of them that the guests have to navigate through depending on how you can hang them from the top. Would be really nifty to have a few dead ends with some hanging creepy stuff (bodies, giant spiders, etc...)

Blood splattered sheets are a great idea!
I personally like the idea of something like a spider's lair. Maybe you could get one huge spider and set it on top of the carport (at the very front) and then drape fake webs and smaller spiders all over the place. Those webs are cheap!
One of those Halloween HGTV specials this weekend showed some people balling up newspaper, then taping it up, then putting gauze and webbing all over it to make it look like the spiders had an upside down body in their web.
