We all love to show our own hard work, but it's even better to recognize that work in others.

So, head out into your neighborhood and post pics of your neighbors decorations. Might not be as elaborate as YOURS, but hey, let's see what you inspire in others.

I've been waiting for one last neighbor (first timer to Halloween decorating) to finish up theirs, and they finally have, so I'll get those pics up tonight.

I think my yard haunt intimidates the neighbors!

No one else in my cul-de-sac puts much more than a couple of pumpkins out.

No ONE in my entire neighborhood has decorated except us. One year our backyard neighbors did a haunted house which was cool...never did it again...today one house hang some ghost in a tree that I thought were kleenex but upon closer inspection were actually little plastic pieces...another house has 3 little pumpkins...but it HAS been raining so I am hoping my house will be inspiration and they will all throw on some lights and add some zombies to their flowerbeds!

I have noticed a lack of Halloween decorating all over Austin neighborhoods...I think it is because of the rain...or maybe just because of economics...it costs us several hundred dollars and we already had most of our decorations supplies from the years before....

Same here. No one near me decorates at all. there is one on my street that has thrown out a couple of the lighted blowup decorations but other than that. Nothing.

From a good drive around the neighborhood, no one has much stuff up.
One house has TONS of cobwebs, ghosts, door decorations, lights. A few houses
have about two strings of lights on their porch, one house has little hands coming up the ground going up to their porch.

So, not really much, just a little here and there. -sigh.

I have I few neighbors that decorate. One neighbor in our circle drive has a small graveyard, small fence and a hanging ghost. Others just have some orange lights and a tombstone here or there. But most wait till the week of, so I'll probally be seeing a few people outside this Saturday putting up there stuff. There is only one other house in the neighborhood that does alot. If I get a chance while driving by, I'll take a picture. He has a good outdoor display, and if he has the time, he does an indoor walkthrough. This is the first year that we have actually done a big haunt, so now he has some competition, as he is "the Halloween guy" in our neighborhood. But I hope to change that status this year.

My neighbor a couple houses down is really into Halloween. Her display is very cute and geared toward small children. She has all kinds of friendly ghouls and goblins seated in old toy cars and wagons and in other creative settings. I know she usually has a bunch of sound/motion activated things at the entrance that go off and light up and she remote controls the fog as they approach. The kids really love it!

I couldn't get out last night, but I found some old pics from 2 years ago.

I'm fairly sure these folks moved away this year. (tons of houses on the street sold, not 100% sure yet)

I know they had a strobe on the thing, and I'm pretty sure they had a costumed actor as well.

One of my only regrets of doing my own thing on Halloween is not being able to go to this house. I've been told they do a whole walkthrough inside and out back. But, they've never been home when I've rang the bell to ask about it.

These are some friends around the block. Really met through Halloween, saw me setting up and drove back around the block to come tell me how much they liked it. Later that same night I was taking these pics and ran into him again at his house.

As I said, I'm pretty sure we've lost the one house, but gained another, and some of the others have added to their haunts, so I'll be getting more pics up ASAP.

I really wish my neighbors would do something!

I am still keeping my fingers crossed!

I live in a culdesac behind a darn fence so my house is hardly seen...I got it all going on..graveyard....zombies...LOR...it looks good....

I am keeping my fingers crossed that someone in my neighborhood will decorate..

or sell their homes and move.
