Anyone catch it last night?
I look forward to them every year, so to be before Halloween instead of in November for the first time in a decade is nice.
It wasn't one of the best by far but i enjoyed it. The '28 Days Later' segment being the best.

I was thinking how great they got it BEFORE Halloween this year...but I was keeping my expectations low, and they still were blah.
I really think the Simpsons jumped the shark years ago. Purely my opinion, tho.

I agree with many fans that sometime after the sixth Treehouse, the show took a decided turn downward.
There are lots of reasons people complain, such as a complete disregard for earlier storylines (which wasn't an issue in the first six seasons), weak humor, completely uncharacteristic behaviour in well-established characters, that sort of thing.
For me, the issue was Homer. Homer has always been simple-minded, tempermental and hedonistic, but he used to be a big-hearted fella who would suffer for those he loved.
For the past few years, he's just been a shallow jerk. I could care less about him now.

I must admit the humor and originality isn't the same as it was many seasons ago.
I guess it's to be expected after, what is it now, 18 seasons or something?
But i find myself recording the old treehouse episodes whenever i catch them on cable.
The storylines were much more centered around traditional spookyness, whereas now it's more of a south park 'current events' parody type deal.
Still, was a little bit of something to add to the pre-halloween spirit.

I havent seen it yet, but look forward to doing.
Agreed that quality of the T.O.H episodes have declined as the numbers have gotten higher, but it's not just the Halloween specials where that is occurring now, is it?
They pop up with a nice idea every now and again though, so its good to keep up with it.

Saw most of it, when they started singing I was done. Was so happy it was on before Halloween, although it always helped the after Halloween depression when it was on in Nov.

I saw it last night, and I thought it was okay. The 28 Days Later parody was the best, though the Dial M for Murder spoof was nice. The last segment made me think of either Little Shop of Horrors a bit. Seeing Frankenstien dressed as Spongebob had me in stitches, but overall, it was a bit better than the newer episodes, though I watched one of the earlier TOH episodes on DVD (Treehouse of Horror II)

If anyone missed it (or is a cheap ass like me and doesn't have TV services) it is available online on Hulu for free, and legally! The link will take you to the video on Hulu and it should play just like YouTube.
I watched it tonight, it was along the lines of my expectations. Random, weird, no story line, and mostly bland. I started watching Simpsons 8 yrs ago when I started college. It was a great show then, but quickly started to decline. The first ToH I saw was great and loved it, been disappointed since.
