With under 2 weeks to go, I finished setting up my graveyard last night. By early morning, someone had stolen over half of the tombstones that I put up
At least they left the more detailed one. If I decide to put up a display in my front yard next year (at this point, I am not) I think I will rig the tombstones with electric fencing

Weatherproof Infrared Beam Motion Detector for a fence around your graveyard. When the beam is broken wire it to bright flood lights so that will scare them off before they can take anything

I am so sorry that happened to you!
Were they homemade stones or store bought?

I am so paranoid about this happening that I only put out the cheapy store bought ones until we're physically out there watching.

I HATE that some stupid jerks do this sort of thing...

Make sure that you do put up a large wooden sign explaining that you did the display in the past for the neighborhood to enjoy, and also that the reason they do not have it this year because some punks decided to ruin it for everyone by stealing your decorations.

That is really too bad. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm always worried that something like that is going to happen to me, but so far I've been very lucky. This year, I have put a 3 ft tall fence around my graveyard to help limit access.

I really hate reading these threads. I get so angry to think some low life would steal your hard work. Like Frankie's Girl, we put out a few cheap store bought stones until Halloween day when the good ones go out. As much as I would love to set up my entire display, I can't bear the thoughs of things being stolen or vandalised. We just wait until the day of Halloween to get it all set up.

I'm not sure I'd bother either, especially if I had to wait until the 31st I'd never get finished in time...

Fortunately so far I haven't had this problem. I live in a somewhat upscale trailer- Whoops! I mean mobile home park. There were some families with young kids, but most of them have moved away. Most of the time, we get nieces, nephews, and mostly grand kids that come by during the summer and weekends. It's completely surrounded by a chain link fence, well lit (every trailer has it's own street light)

The management is VERY picky about overall appearance of the lots, not to mention the 10 mph speed limit. As such the manager and her employees patrol the park every day. We even have an officer from the local police department living here. The security get especially amped up Halloween night. .

*sigh* still I'd love to have a larger front & side yard.

I'm at that awkward stage in life... Somewhere between 'Annoying Fanboy' ...and 'Dirty Old Man'...
